Shy hamster help

I’m at a loss as what to do. We bought a baby Syrian 3 or 4 weeks ago. I’m well aware hamsters are nocturnal ect but I’m quite experienced with hamsters and have never come across one like this.

He is clearly petrified of us, which is normal in the beginning but I’ve never known it take longer than 2 weeks to get them used to being held.

I feel like I’m never going to be able to even begin taming this hamster as we never see him. He won’t come out of his house at all. Not even for food and drink, until I go to bed. No matter how late I go to bed. Once I’m in bed I hear him in his wheel ect. He seems perfectly healthy.

I tried removing the house and holdinnit close to menwith my hand in front, he came out once and I held him, he seemed ok with it, but after that he wouldn’t do it again. Wouldnjust sniff me and go back in.

He has now taken all his bedding and has spent the last week sleeping in one of the tube things. I can’t get near him. I need to clean out the tube because it’s full of bedding,
Food and poo but he never comes out.
