Canary with egg stuck to feathers

Hello, can anyone give me advice on how to remove a stuck egg on my canaries feathers?

It is quite badly stuck on her chest, only half the egg, the first half fell off as she was hopping around the cage.

We tried to pick her up to help her remove it, but she is very nervous and panicked a lot.

Can I just leave her to remove it herself?

My other option was to gently spray her with lukewarm water to make the egg softer to help her remove it?

I could try to reach her again, but I don't want to stress her out anymore.

I'm really not an expert but my mum used to give her canary baths. A little shallow dish of water and the canary would splash in it like, well, a wild bird in a birdbath. Might be worth a google?
