Evening wise Mumsnet

Any advice for my Syrian hamster Millie would be greatly appreciated.

She is staying with my sister at the moment as we are away. She rang in tears last night to say the platforms in Millie's cage were covered in blood. After calming her I face timed and the hamster seemed ok, no obvious sign of blood on her. I've asked my sister to monitor her when she is awake and let me know if her character is out of sorts.

I've just had a small video from her and we can now see the source of the blood, a cut on her mouth to nose. She must have been chewing at the wire part of the cage.

We are flying back tonight (planned), should be back home at 5 in the morning. From the attached pic should I be getting her to vets in the morning? She seems quite herself in the video, maybe a little bit nasally.

Thanks

Poor Millie, could be her lower teeth are too long and need trimming? Or maybe just something to gnaw on

Hope all is ok

Thank you, I'm hoping she is ok too. We are back home now so as soon as we've slept I'm going to collect her and see how she is

Thanks for asking. We've got her home and had some quiet time with her. She is a little more sedate than normal but I am hoping that's just because she is unsettled from being transported. We've agreed to watch her tomorrow and if she seems off I'll get her checked Monday. She wolfed down a hamster chocolate nibble (naughty I know), hopefully she'll be more herself tomorrow
