This year it's from 9th - 17th May. Some vets offer free bunny health checks during this week, so it's worth investigating with your vet and taking bun along for a check up.

Bonkey - just get them vaccinated and neutered and generally that's the only time they need vet attention. I shall, however, take my boy for a health check (just to wind him up)!

Fernie Whats the deal with rabbit claws?

I cut the pigs myself and thats hard enough ....neither rabbit enjoys being held but they will plonk next to me for a fuss for 10 seconds at a time . I don't fancy trying to battle with a bitey, kicky, long eared ball of fluff Hmm .

They are partly on concrete, will this help keep them down?

i am assuming here they need claws clipping at some point....I am on a whirlwind of rabbit ownership at the moment and researching to death

Concrete will help keep them down but clipping will be required at some point. It very much depends on the bunny. As yours are young get them used to being handled, sitting on knees etc as much as you can. It makes everything easier.

We had my previous bun from a baby and she would sit on my knee while I went round her claws. Current Bun was set in his ways when we adopted him and he is very difficult. My DD has a way of holding him a bit like a baby - you're not really supposed to hold them like that, but it's the only way to clip his claws. My DD holds him, he relaxes and I can get round his claws in a minute. Otherwise he would have to go to the vet as he is a fighter.
