Hamster cages

Help, please.
My hamsters keep escaping from their cages. One had a tube thing round the outside which collapsed, then when we put the clear plastic plug in the bit where the tube had been she pushed it out! It is now propped up with a heavy object. This morning I heard a caffufle in the wee room where they are and the other hamster was out! She had pushed open the door of her cage. I now have a large object placed on the doors ogf both cages.
It is sheer luck they are both alive, the first one was out of her cage for two nights the first time, only a few hours the second.
Hammy No2 only out minutes. We have a young cat of about 8 months who is learning to be a hunter. He is kept out of the hamster room, but they are obviously able to get out of their room when not in their cages.
Essentially, what I am asking in a very roundabout way Grin for is a recommendation for strong cages as escape free as possible!
Any ideas?
TIA.

Could you put the tubes back on and tape the joins so they are a bit more secure?

Most commercial cages arent quite big enough for a full grown syrian, especially rotastak ones (unless you have lots of it :D )
I used a cage from zooplus that looked like a guineapig/rabbit cage, it was 80cm long so loads of room inside to add toys ect and bars were spaced small so no escapees!
Security is a must with cats, I have had one come to a sticky end after someone left a door open once, I have a bad feeling it was me :/
Can you bend the door a bit if its metal so it shuts tighter or add a clip to stop it being opened.
Bear in mind a cat jumping on top of a cage can pop the door open too if its not tight enough.
