Where to put our GPs when we move house?

DS has two girls who live in his bedroom (hopefully that'll be the only time I ever have to type that! Grin) all year round. They have a run in the garden which they go in during the day at weekends but we don't like to leave them out there when DC are at school.

We're now moving house and DS doesn't have room for the piggies in his new bedroom. They have a big C&C cage which we built to fill the space he had.

We want to move them out into the garden as there's a space where they could go that seems sheltered. But I'm not sure they'd be happy out there over the winter as they're not used to being cold.

The problem is that we don't have anywhere for them inside, except the garage but there's no window in there and putting them there over winter seems a miserable existence.

Any ideas please?

Tricky because this is the time of year when most piggies are moving in.

The garage would be better than outdoors TBH if they've always been indoor piggies. You would need to make sure it's fume free (no car/paints/noxious smells) and dry. Our garage has two really manky windows and a solid door so not ideal but being concrete , it's much colder than their wooden shed.

Is it attatched to the house? Is there a door ajoining that you could leave open by day?

Could you find space in the hall or landing for them?
Under the stairs- is there a cupboard that you could take the door off and put their cage in?
There's a scope of flexibility with C&C cages, lots of ideas on their website.
(I'm thinking how to arrange 30 panels that are 14" square into a pigpen in our small bedroom. Did consider a two storey but mine are too lazy)

DD had two boys in her room last year and she kept taking them into her bed for a cuddle. (Guy Fawkes)
Now I didn't expect to be writing that ever for at least another 10 years Wink

We're not moving until after Christmas but I agree that it's the worst time to be putting them outside for the first time. I've been looking at the winter covers for hutches, but I think it's too much to go from inside to outside at this time of year even with the cover.

Maybe we could prop the internal garage door open during the day so there's some daylight in there just until the spring and then by this time next year they'll be ok outside for longer.
