A playing card. He managed to get halfway through it before I noticed, will he be ok?! I read somewhere that the coating on playing cards can sometimes be toxic so I'm a bit worried. It was a few hours ago and he seems fine so far.

He'll probably be fine. My previous bun chewed and ate a lot of weird stuff without issue - bath mats, shoes, fishfinger etc Grin. Current bun has enjoyed a doormat and lamp - he was a bit off for a few days, but soon recovered.

Keep an eye on him but he should be okay

Am sure he's fine. The worst one from my POV was asking the vet if my rabbit would be ok after having eaten the corner of a condom packet! We did have a good giggle in the surgery about that!!!

He's fine :) they really will eat anything won't they? How did your rabbit manage to eat a lamp?! I'm glad I haven't had to ask about him eating a condom packet. His latest snack was a scart lead, even with covers over the wires he still manages to get to them!

My chinchillas seemed to favour the spines of books, and the edges of lampshades Hmm

Never mentioned the books Current Bun loves to'read'. As for the lamp - he ate through the cable and then launched a vicious and unprovoked attack on the lamp itself. Poor lamp never stood a chanceHmm

I'd forgotten about Petra - the last rabbit I had at my mum's house. She tore the spine off books, ate wallpaper, chewed through the phone cable - if she could reach it she'd have a go.

I remember the time I was going to school at the weekend for a rehearsal. My mum was out, so I had to put the burglar alarm on. For some reason it wouldn't set. I checked all the doors, but found nothing amiss, so in the end had to leave without setting it and hope for the best, assuming it was just a blip and would right itself.

A few days later the guy came to fix it. TWO HOURS it took him to check every part of the system. Eventually he came across a wee wire in the garage leading to the cellar. Petra lived in the garage, assumed everything in there was hers, and, of course, had chewed through the wire! No idea what the bill came to but the guy thought it was hilarious!

This he was the same workman who my cat had a crush on. Usually she hated men, even those she saw regularly, but with this guy she was a different creature! It actually got quite embarrassing!

What is it about rabbits and books? Monty also loves to read, but only certain books. He's particularly fond on the jolly Christmas postman and my dp's delia smith cookery book.
Rabbitsarenothares that's hilarious! I once spent an hour on the phone to sky trying to figure out why our Internet wasn't working, only to find that monty had chewed through the Ethernet cable Blush

Previous Bun turned off our Christmas tree lights by chewing through the cable. I thought a bulb wasn't working - it took me ages to work out what she'd done. Clearly not a fan of Christmas.

Current Bun is also fond of cookery books although he does like a magazine and will pull them off tables if he can reach them. I've bought so many mags which have been turned into a shredded pile before I can read them.
