Has anyone on here been to or know anyone else who has been to rehab for cannabis?

Interested to know what it would involve. There's no physical withdrawal. So time away and counselling?

It does have some withdrawal effects. Most psychological. So yes some therapy and some medication to help with the symptoms of withdrawal, in a residential setting

I've never known anyone to go to rehab for cannabis, I've known plenty go due to heroin and crack though.

Could the person not just get some antidepressants from the GP and self refer to talking therapy? Maybe some nicotine replacements too.

No I think residential rehab would be best as he has tried coming off it at home and it doesn’t work. He needs to be away from his home and his daily routine to break away from it

Rehab facilities do offer residential treatment for cannabis. It’s not just for hard drugs like heroin and crack

I worked in one and never heard of one. Sometimes cannabis and something.

It could be worth looking into Castle Craig Hospital, we’ve had clients go there and do well. Usually people for whom the addiction is more of a symptom of other issues, which, TBH is most addicts when it comes down to it.

Rehab for cannabis is definitely a possibility. Rehab happens after a detox (which may also be appropriate to manage cannabis withdrawal). Paying for it privately will be straight forwards, but expensive. It should be possible to access this via the NHS, but only after other options have been tried and exhausted. This would usually involve trying mutual aid, one to one therapy, or the like
