Smoking to vaping?

Has anyone succeeded in swapping smoking for vaping?
I can't stand how addicted to cigarettes I am, I wake every morning in panic about my health.
I just can't seem to get myself to stop! In fact the more I think about it, the more I smoke!
I was thinking trying to switch to vaping might be an idea?
Has anyone managed this? Any tips?
Thank you

Yes is worked for me. Used to smoke 40 a day and quit using vaping. I have also now stopped vaping best thing I ever did to give up.

It works. It might not give you as much of a hit in the back of your throat, but it tastes nicer and is better for your health.

That's really good to hear. Well done you two!
Did you swap over gradually? How did you start?

Worked for me. I swapped completely 5 years ago. Was on 30 a day, have had 3 cigarettes since then.

Yes I did. Give it a go!

Wow!
You've done really well!
That gives me some motivation...
Has your health improved?
Is there any particular vape you'd recommend?

Switched to vaping eighteen months ago, have saved over £5k, feel so much better.
Used in conjunction with smoke free app to clearly see health benefits and cravings resisted etc.
Husband has also done the same for almost six months now.

You need a decent e-cig and initially puff on it loads at a fairly high strength!
If you're getting lots of cravings then you're not using the e-cig enough.

I switched from smoking 20 a day to vaping around 2 and a half years ago. I don't miss it. I would recommend going to a vape shop first to try it maybe? They are brilliant at recommending starter kits which you can then upgrade if it suits you. I started with a small one like this www.innokin.com/vaporizers/endura/ and then bought a bigger battery so I didn't have to charge it so often. I get all my liquid from onepoundeliquid.com. My health is better, I was able to start running which I could never have done on the fags! I save around £3k a year from not smoking too which is a big bonus. Do it!

I feel much better than when I was smoking. No more breathlessness, no more yellow teeth, no more chest infections, no more stinky clothes. I use onepoundeliquid too.

Yes, been stopped for a few years now. I don't do the big cloudy vaping. I use a mini nautilus tank, 1.8 coils with a coolfire variable wattage battery. I vape 50/50 juice. I've used the exact same setup almost since I stopped (had a few stick type ones to start with but quickly moved on to something better/adjustable temp). When I stopped, I did it when I was off work & just vape through any cravings. Would never go back to smoking, I feel so much better and my breathing is now like a non-smoker. Good luck!

The vape juice I use most just now is one called Glory Glaze by Cheap Thrills. It's quite sweet/cakey and I find it more mellow than other juices.

Although I was only a part time smoker I successfully quit altogether using my vape part time instead.

I get the “hit” from American tobacco flavour stuff from Refill Station.

Thank you all so much for supporting this weak willed breathless stranger!
I've bought an ecig from the shop like the one in the link above, along with some tobacco flavoured liquid, looked up the other vape/liquids mentioned. And that's really something about all those thousands of ££ saved!! I actually don't know where I find the money for it atm, I'm on minimum wage...
Haven't thought about that in a while, so thanks for the reminder. Oh to be able to breathe, have unstained teeth and fingers and smell good! (I don't notice it but I know I must stink!) and run! I had to run for a bus the other day and thought I was going to die....
I'm going to swap over bit by bit I think. Start replacing some fags with vaping and not even think about being without nicotine yet, ill deal with that later once I've managed to switch...sounds like that's what some of you have done. I smoke 30 a day and have smoked for 30 years 😱 so I'm finding it a really big deal but the benefits you describe and the fact that I'm still going to get nicotine and that 'hit' at the back of my throats makes it feel like it might be do-able....
Another question if you don't mind?!
Did you gain weight when you switched? I put on 2 stone when I tried to quit before 😬 I'm quite fat already

Oh, and I love the idea of the smoke free app too- I'll put that in my toolbox, thank you 😊

I didn't gain any weight because I use vaped instead of snacking.
Get yourself a cherry or strawberry menthol juice, something like that. Surprisingly enough, I found (and so have a few of my friends) that nicotine flavour is our least favourite.
It's weird because you expect to want to replicate the feeling of smoking... but ultimately you just enjoy vaping instead.

And another. It's really motivating. Just pick a day to switch and go for it. Have a packet of fags in the drawer so that you feel you have them if you 'need them', but just don't smoke them.
Just stop.
Completely!
Good luck, and let us know how you get on.

I smoked for age 12 and was on 30 a day when I quit at 32
Got an e cig, 18mg strength liquid and vaped for 24hrs. After that I thought I would be stupid to have a cig so I just kept going. And going!
I use an eleaf ipower battery bit, mini triton and eliquid 4 a quid usually
I do like digbys juices if I have more money, their bramble or rhubarb flavour

Looks great, thank you! I can see how that's really motivating. Thank you so much for your encouragement and tips- just what I need! I don't have support with this IRL so, honestly, this is really helping me. Hadn't thought about the different flavours, yes had just assumed I'd want fag flavour! It'll be interesting to see how it goes for me.
Ollivander84 that's great you managed to stop like this too. Yes, I like nicotine and don't want to stop either!
Think it's amazing what everyone's achieved here, all those extra days of life, health and cash. If you can all do it then there's no real excuse for me is there?! 😊

My Dad switched to vaping last September - he'll be 90 in July, and had smoked since he was '7 or 8' (so he told a nurse today!). I switched myself for almost a year - but stupidly started smoking again - also last September - when Dad had a nasty fall and it was touch and go for a while, and my stress levels were through the roof. Thanks for posting, you've given me the push I needed to get off the damned stinkies again and back to lovely, lovely, vaping. I recommend the Aspire Breeze - great bit of kit for a beginner! Best of luck with it :)

No excuse. My father in law vapes too - after forty years of smoking rollies!
You can do this!

Yes I did it in 2011. Never looked back. Don't bother with those pen things you can get. Get a proper vape like an itaste MPV 4 or something similar. I'm sure others also have good recommendations. Stick at it. Its slightly different to smoking but it's more than good enough. Would never go back to smoking now, after a habit lasting 25 years. Good luck. It is so worth it. I can catch my breath now and feel so much better.

I always have fag flavour btw. Despite trying others, it's still my favourite.
