Hi I am a 35 year old women who has never touched drugs until Saturday night. I went out with a group of friends who always use cocaine when we go out. I always refuse however I am having such a terrible time my friend suggested it. So I snorted probably around 3-4 lines through the night. Last time about 3am. I didn’t feel the effects too much and I consumed a lot of alcohol. The next day I felt awful, my heart was racing headache, light headed felt like I was going to pass out. Pain in my neck chest shoulder numbness in my legs. I went to A&E I felt really judged. They did 1 ECG said it was normal and these were normal effects. It is now nearly 48 hours since I had it and still feeling all these symptoms along with chronic diarrhoea after I eat. I have managed 4 slices of toast and two oranges in 48 hours with water. I am laying in bed scared to go to sleep in case I don’t wake up, is all this normal? I will never ever touch drugs again they are just not for me. I am so frightened of heart attack etc . Sorry if I sound ridiculous x

You don't sound ridiculous, you sound scared and full of regret. Try to stay calm, someone who knows how to help will be along in a minute. Sorry that's not me, just didn't want to leave you without any message.

It's all normal, don't worry. Over thinking it makes it worse. Vitamin C helps your body excrete it, maybe have some orange juice? watch TV, anything to take your mind of it. You'll be fine xx

You say you consumed a lot of alcohol - was it a lot more than usual?

I ask because coke keeps you quite sober so you could drink a ridiculous amount and I'm wondering whether it's the after effects of the alcohol you're feeling now rather than the coke.

Chances are you will be fine.

NEVER do it again.

Sudden cardiac death does happen with cocaine use; not usually days after the use though.

Learn from your experience Thanks

This is called a comedown, OP - and bizarrely, the first is often the worst. Probably also combined with a hangover making it even more unpleasant.

It will pass Flowers

Thank you. I just feel so rough especially as it seems such a long time ago. I never experience such symptoms with just alcohol. I have two little children and so ashamed of myself, praying this feeling goes. I did drink a lot more alcohol than normal , so stupid. X

I tried coke once a few years ago in similar situations to yourself. I'm so against drugs but i was having a few shit months and it was offered to me when I was wasted.

I wet myself two nights running.

I tell any teen who mentions drugs now that it made me wet myself twice. Quite a lot of adults have tried some drugs in various forms so don't worry about being judged. Hope you're feeling better soon.

On the more practical side keep drinking fluids and take some vitamins. It shall pass.

Try to relax too, OP. Sounds like you’re feeling very anxious (unsurprising since this is a new and unpleasant experience), but heightened anxiety can cause or exacerbate a lot of the symptoms you describe - chest pain, diarrhoea etc. Try and relax - I’m sure you’re going to be just fine

Thank you. I woke up today feeling a bit better but then when starting to do something I feel really awful again. Might have something to do with having no appetite whatsoever and not eating. It’s bren 55 hours surely I should feel better. I have had to have another day off uni so I’m back in bed. But as I lay here I feel awful again, don’t know what to do. Learnt my lesson x

That sounds like a horrid comedown OP but it is a 'normal' reaction and everything will be ok Flowers

I hope so I have forced 1 slice of jam on toast down as I am shaking uncontrollably exhausted head spinning and low heart rate. My mom just saw me (not told her) she said I look ash and ill. X

Basically, theres little point doing coke or any stimulants with drinking, and it is much more dangerous than drinking alone or doing coke alone, because the alcohol will mean you dont feel the coke properly, and yet the coke will stop you feeling as drunk, so you potentially end up drinking far more than you would normally and more than you can handle.
Coke comedown will likely make you feel low and down, but a lot of these physical after effects will be from excessive drinking.
You are going to have to ride it out. Eat some healthy food, keep your fluids up and try and sleep it off if you can. You will feel better over the next couple of days xx

Goodness this does sound very extreme. Surely you should be totally recovered by today.
I would assume lots of food, lots of meals, a bath and an early night would help.
Is it better now?

The heart rate seems better but I have the worst head ache. I have pretty much slept for 2 days. Every time I eat I have chronic diarrhoea it has literally been the worst few days of my life . If this is how people feel I have no idea how they go out a second time and do it. Maybe I am lucky to have had this reaction because I won’t go near it again. I am off the alcohol too now. Had such a fright, I am just going to concentrate on my children and me. Even text my friend saying shall we spa day for your birthday instead x

Now hang on a second : This isn't normal. You seem to be saying, if people feel this way, why do it?
I've never had what you are describing, from alcohol, drugs, bad food, illness, from nothing, ever.

You are clearly having a very bad reaction. To something. You don't even know what it was. It could be alcohol, something you ate, or a strain of d&v.

Hope it gets better.

I don’t think you’d be feeling after effects of 4 lines of weak coke days later.....people don’t feel like that or of course they’d never do it again. Just sounds like you’re ill.

You don't even know it was actually coke OP.

That's one of the big problems with illegal drugs. It could have been cut with anything.
