It's a new week and a new thread. There are a few surfboards abandoned in lost property if anyone wishes to reclaim them.. Grin

Hope everyone has recovered from their weekend and is having a good Monday.

Found you. New thread new chance for clean until ... well, let's start with November.

Hello Ponz. It sounds as though fate intervened for you and kept you on your board this weekend. Hope you've made peace with your frustration and are embracing the silver lining. Smile (November feels very far off, eek).

This week will (hopefully) be my 3rd week clean. I'm still chasing that elusive month clean and going slightly mad in the process.

Found you too and have collected my surfboard from lost property Smile Well Ponz looks like the decisions made for you Confused and Lost you're doing great. As usual I'm resolute to stay surfing after last weekend, this usually lasts for 2 weeks until I forget how awful I felt and go again. However I have stuff planned for next few weekends so hopefully that will distract me. Had to laugh to myself at work today when everyone asked how my weekend was, a quiet one I said just chilled at home Hmm Hmm if only they knew!

Hello, I've come to collect my surfboard!

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 25/09/2017 21:57

I found your snorkel in the beach hut too Serial best put it on for good measure. Glad you're feeling better x

Hopefully our start of the week resolve will see us through. Hooch I've uttered that "just a quiet weekend really" reply a few times whilst having awful mental flashbacks to the wreck I was around 4am the day before. The shame Blush

We're all heading the right way though, even if there are a few wobbles.
I'm coping by having lots of baths and early nights at the moment.

Just a "quiet weekend" here tooBlush
Like Serial no sleep til 7am, for various reasons, none of which are very healthy. Then on Sunday we had friends over for lunch, which was eventually served at 4pm

Dusty, I have just about recovered from my weekend. Why do we do this?

Report
ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 27/09/2017 19:10

Welcome back Dusty that sounds messy! It'd take me days to recover. Hope you're alright.Shall we call it your celebration of dds going to uni?

Why indeed Serial I wish I knew. I'm really struggling tonight. It would be very easy to get some dropped off and it feels like I've been surfing for about a year (2 and a half weeks).

I've been trying to distract myself by looking at races I could sign up to. Glow in the Park looks quite good but you have to wear a head torch and it's £36 way cheaper than a gram but still.

Yes I keep finding bruises and having flashbacks Confused
£36 seems a small price to pay if it keeps you afloat!

Try and put all this in your motivation tank Dusty. I'm no stranger to the old unidentified minor drinking injuries (UMDI) Wink
It's at times like these that you realise you've underestimated how nice feeling normal is.

Haven't decided about the race thing. It's in the evening, it's in London, there'll be disco lights and old school. Could be triggering and go pear shaped afterwards. I don't trust myself an inch which is problematic.

Lost if it is in London you can come and meet me!!

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 27/09/2017 22:33

The words "Disaster" and "Recipe for" spring to mind Ponz Grin I'd be in your shoe cupboard like a rat. Thanks though, you're lovely.

I've spoken to my sensible/slightly bossy sister and we're doing the blooming race together, I've bought the tickets from a dubious seller online and it's this weekend. Oh God.
This is not in my comfort zone at all but all the worrying has distracted me anyway, although I've had a few drinks now.

Thanks Dusty It's partnered with Chain of Hope for children with cardiac diseases but I haven't set up a fundraising page and can't accept money from you. That's kind though.

Please don't be impressed Ponz I'll probably be last or stretchered off.

Hey surfers, been offline for a while but just came back to check how you all are.
Sorry serial about being robbed - that is seriously shit.
Hey Lost, Ponzu, Dusty and Hoochi I’m glad to see you are all still surfing (with the occasional splosh) me too, but less sploshing than before! Baby steps!! New house, new era (fingers crossed!)
Good to see you surf babes x

Report
ponzusoup · 30/09/2017 09:25

Hey zig congrats on new house and on surfing on. Yep we are all still here. I'm floored with cold this weekend. Was vaguely wondering whether c@ke protects. I've had two lines in the last two months and now have this cold. When I was bang at it I was barely ever ill for two years !!! Que pasa?

Anyways my cupboard / shoe is bare so zero chance of any sploshes. Just wish I was well enough to enjoy it!!

Report
HoochiMama · 30/09/2017 09:43

Hi Zig, good hear from you! Glad all is well and you are sploshing less. Ponz know what you mean, I sometimes think that stuff keeps the germs away but so bad for your health in other ways Confused Well done for not getting any more and hope you feel better soon.

I feel about a million times better than this time last week, ugh the memory is making me shudder. I'm meant to be going on a date with an unsuitable far younger man later, he will probably cancel or turn out to balding old man but at least it will keep me out of trouble.

Lost I hope you are limbering up and polishing your glow sticks?

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 30/09/2017 10:31

Hi Zig nice to hear your'e still surfing. I thought you'd hung up your board and gone to the dark side! It must be a relief to be settled in your new home. Surf on dude.

Get well soon Ponz Brew
