Has anyone tried Joanie Clothing?!

Need a practical swimming costume that isn't frumpy... and I think the bikini days are over cake

I think this one could be good for covering my problem area (tummy)

Seems too good to be true, as the M&S version was £40...?!?!

What do you think? Can anyone else recommend any good options?! X

i think it looks frumpy im afraid.

would you not go for a high waisted bikini or have you tried asos / next / river island?

Mcakes Wed 05-Jul-17 10:44:26

Ooh yes, I would. Very cute and definitely not frumpy

ohhhhhshit Wed 05-Jul-17 10:44:43

Swimming costume / skirt combo is just frump-tastic, I'm afraid. And more likely to draw attention to areas you're trying to hide.

BarbRoyle Wed 05-Jul-17 10:45:29

Definitely would look frumpy I think. Is it to wear home or abroad?

This is proving difficult as I'm a 16/18 so a lot of brands are out of the question.

It's free delivery & returns so I may just give it a go!

Birthday spa day in just over a week so I need something asap X smile

It's very cute. Go for it! Not everyone wants to flash every inch of themselves

Drybonesthatdream Wed 05-Jul-17 10:50:18

I think it's gorgeous! I love vintage style clothing. Go for it, you can always return it.

And in the mean time, I might have one for myself.

There are high waisted bikinis - but I'm not sure?!?!

They're more stylish but I'm not sure about showing any midriff blush

I'll order a few and try them on I think,

CocoLoco87 Wed 05-Jul-17 10:56:40

I like M&S secret slimming costumes. They're quite tight around the middle but I have felt very body confident in them this year. I'm a size 14 post children and my tummy is a definite problem area. It's like it has cellulite on it!

brunette89 Wed 05-Jul-17 10:58:59

@CocoLoco87 I know the feeling!
Does the M&S one feel uncomfortable after a while? X

gingerbreadmam Wed 05-Jul-17 10:59:54

if you like that style go for it i think it's personal taste. Asos do a great range and lots of sizes if you do get stuck. Their delivery and returns are great too.

I second the m&s ones, I don't think they are uncomfy and lots of them have ruching across the tummy that's quite flattering.
Tbh I think any of the costumes with extra bits look more conspicuous and probably have the opposite effect to what you're after tbh.

This looks nice. Might have to have a look at it myself!

brunette89 Wed 05-Jul-17 11:07:17

@FrowningFlamingo oooh I might try that! flowers

squirreltrap Wed 05-Jul-17 11:07:57

Wear what you like, literally

If you like it, buy it and enjoy it

Branleuse Wed 05-Jul-17 11:08:15

I like it. Id wear it

Katmeifyoucan Wed 05-Jul-17 11:09:23

The style of the M&S one is much nicer.

InigoTaran Wed 05-Jul-17 11:16:28

I like it. Also they have some good reductions in their sale if you suit that vintage look!

PlymouthMaid1 Wed 05-Jul-17 11:23:42

I think it looks lovely, classy and different with a fifties vibe.

brunette89 Wed 05-Jul-17 11:30:44

@PlymouthMaid1 my thoughts exactly smile I love that vintage style!

I've just ordered loads from Joanie blush all pretty cheap though and free returns, so can't go wrong!

I've got the M&S one coming too - hoping it works wonders! X

nina2b Wed 05-Jul-17 11:49:00

It looks very 1940s!

JaneJeffer Wed 05-Jul-17 11:49:44

Looking at the back view it seems to show a lot of arse and then the front is very covered so it looks a bit strange.

nina2b Wed 05-Jul-17 11:51:12

The M&S one is not as nice. That ruching thing fools nobody.

CocoLoco87 Wed 05-Jul-17 17:16:33

No they don't feel uncomfortable. I bought 2, will try and post links although I don't know how! The only thing I would say, once wet, they are quite tricky to get back up once you peel them down to go to the loo! Without being too graphic, I ended up just hoiking them to the side if I needed to go blush but you don't have that problem I'd they aren't wet smile
