Has someone already posted about this?! Am stuck in a huge shopping centre and tried Zara, M&S, TopShop, H&M, New Look... have I missed the nice summer dresses?!

If you know of ANY that are vaguely not really skimpy, not mega frilly/girly girly... ok sounds hard for a dress but.. sort of knee/above knee...I'm very pale if anyone knows of good shades! Would prefer to be able to wear a bra if possible smile

Help! Going to BBQ at the weekend and can't wear leggings again!

Try Boden - having a Sale now - lots of classic summer dresses there. With shoulders!

or hush has a few, depending on what you are looking for (I was looking for short sleeves!)

Rioja123 Wed 05-Jul-17 21:12:18

What is hush sizing like? If I'm between a 10 and 12 is it better to go up or down?

UpYouGo Wed 05-Jul-17 21:19:58

Posters who have bought the h&m jersey dresses, what is the sizing like? I'm usually an 8ish, but I know h&m comes up small. So size small or medium?

Marking place. Need some ideas too.

CakeNinja Wed 05-Jul-17 21:49:33

I'd get a small, I get a medium and am a 14, they are really roomy and loose. Do they do an XS? I find their clothes come up really big?!

CakeNinja Wed 05-Jul-17 21:50:44

And I'm now also buying that lightning Hush one for work!
Great thread Op smile

irregularegular Wed 05-Jul-17 21:55:37

Yes Hush tend to be quite loose fitting.

This H&M one looks nice too

MadameJosephine Wed 05-Jul-17 22:05:48

I've just bought this shirt dress from Matalan, really comfy and flattering

Swearwolf Wed 05-Jul-17 22:09:35

I'm in love with this Oliver Bonas dress but it's so expensive!

Whatawaytomakealiving Wed 05-Jul-17 22:23:37

And love The Pretty Dress Company, for special occasions only methinks!

I live in the Boden jersey dresses every summer. Nice length, good weight, small sleeve. So wearable and comfortable.

leccybill Wed 05-Jul-17 22:27:29

The only one I like so far on this thread is the Sainsburys one. Anyone seen it in real life?

LoupGarou Wed 05-Jul-17 22:41:20

I have this dress and love it, the pictures are awful and make it look horrendous buts its great in rl, doesn't crease easily, comfy, cool and very flattering, plus looms a lot more smart and elegant than the sort of ditsy photos. That said I love khaki and those kind of colours for summer.

busyboysmum Wed 05-Jul-17 23:11:48

I've got 2 like that. One black and one white. They are great loose summer dresses.

Another vote for the Sainsbury's dress. Tempted to order it and try. It'll be easy to return.

I hate the bare shoulder trend as well. I recently bought these two and they are lovely. So nice to wear something that I feel good in rather than just the usual leggings to run around after children! smile

Watching with interest. I can't find anything I like either. Don't like the Sainsbury's dresses, too printed for me.

Jackiesdaughter Fri 07-Jul-17 13:58:15

Thanks serf went to Laura Ashley and bought the navy maxi dress for my 50th (eek) birthday in two weeks! It's cotton and flattering on my 36F chest. So happy with it 😃

SerfTerf Fri 07-Jul-17 16:00:07

Oh good smile

I have the Sainsbury's dress mentioned earlier, got it today. Really like it, I'm 5' 5" and it comes to just above my knees.

Rioja123 Fri 07-Jul-17 17:16:58

Laura Ashley got delivered today but not tried it on yet, felt like good quality material though.

KittyOShea Fri 07-Jul-17 17:30:48

What are boden's sizes like? And length wise can a short arse like me (5ft 2) get the right length?

CakeNinja Fri 07-Jul-17 19:44:31

I find Boden sizes generous, and you can get lots of their clothes in different lengths.
