Hi all

have had full head of highlights done - have had this before but this time I don't think my hairdresser used a toner and it is really yellow (and in places, gingery) looking - I am so embarrassed by it. I'm off to another salon tomorrow to see if they can make it more of an ash blonde - do you reckon it can be fixed???? am panicking slightly

you should go back to the original hairdresser and say you're not happy, then they'll have to do it for free

Definately go back to the original hairdresser. If they value their reputation they will sort it.Otherwise use a purple wash in toner to calm down brassiness and purple shampoo by John Freida [for blondes] to do the same.

it can be fixed don't worry, my hairs dark brown and I've had it all dyed blonde. Looked yellow foir a couple of weeks, then I had it bleached a bit more, and some nice ash toner and it looks soooo much better.

I would say get back to the original hairdresser and complain! Also for future ref if you use touch of silver (it looks purple in the bottle) shampoo by swarkzporf (sorry spelling not right) it takes the yellow and brassiness out of blond hair

wella do wash in toners as well, if you get an ash one the yellowness should die down. they're about 99p for a sachet from morrisons or the like.

Boots or any bigger chemist should stock it.

Boots don't do it any more. I recently sourced it in a local hairdressers. Just pop in and ask for silver shampoo. They should be able to help or tell you somewhere that stocks it. I paid £8.50 for mine but it lasts for ages and the results are very good and instant. I left it on for 5 mins the first time i used it and now use it like a regular shampoo. I highly recommend it.

I had my hair bleached platinum blonde and it was yellow in a few places, my hairdresser redone it for free which was better, but I've brought touch of silver 2times a week to get rid of any more yellow tones, it's realy cheap and can be brought at boots

Was just going to suggest the same as everyone else, touch of silver twice a week shampoo is brilliant. It's purple so counteracts the yellowy /orange tones. I do a home job all over hair dye so I always end up with a bug of brassiness. After about 2 applications I get my ashy tone I'm after :)
