Not sure if this is a S&B thread but...

ordered a nightdress from JL website late Saturday and it has arrived NOW- and that's with free P&P.

I knew they were intent on beating the postal strike but this is brilliant!

John Lewis are the best for customer service. I have had loads from them and it's always exceptional. Once my mum ordered something that got delayed and she received a huge bouquet of flowers 'for the inconvenience'.

I have ordered lots before but was just amazed that this got here so fast- especially as Sat and Sundays are not considered "working days".

DS was out on the JL vans on Friday delivering until about 10.30pm (recipients knew they were coming!)
He's pleased with the overtime (saving up for expensive gap year trip) and the purchasers get their new purchases as soon as possible.

We were in JL yesterday and I was saying how much I loved it. Quality and range are excellent, staff charming and cafe lovely. I can quite happily spend ages in there.

nightdress? What's that then? Let's have a link!

They are very fast indeed IME!

I love 'em. Just spent an hour in there today. I wish they'd just take over the running of my life and make our house look all matched and together and clean.

Totally your fault Purplepeony that I have just ordered theseDune boots from JL.

My FIL ordered a breadmaker from JL and it arrived the next day, and he's not a man easily impressed!

Rula Lenska? Explain please? I look nothing like her by the way! I just love the feel and comfort of silk nighties and my other two have developed holes/tears that i can't be bothered to fix but ought to!

I had a bed delivered on Friday and they arrived at 7.20AM! They called to say they were on the way and we were all still in bed

Great customer service.

I used to love JL but just recently they have started charging for delivery, so gone are the days of "ooh, I'll just have that"

love it too!

I think JL are good for quality (bought DEVINE silk duvets last year, the silk filling is light and warm but never sweaty, I love it)

Have ordered the nighty too (sorry to be so copycat), do they come up big or small? I am usually a 12, but thought of getting a 14 as am a bit wide in the hips, and don´t want it to be tight.

Yum to silk nightwear.

Which duvet did you buy, Chandon? We need a new one but tbh some of the prices scare me a bit!

I love John Lewis: JL and Amazon are the absolute best online stores imho.

I was admiring their silk nightwear in one of the shops today. It's just lovely. I had to walk on quickly. But I might ask Father Christmas...

I have the 3-4 tog (www.johnlewis.com/14255/Product.aspx
), which is great from March through to November I´d say. After that I layer it with a fleece blanket, or get out the old massive feather duvets. I always think polyester (ie standard) duvets can be a bit sweaty, but I know I am fussy , don´t like wearing polyester clothers either, am hugely into cotton-wool-silk only stuff.

I bought these to replace my 20 year old lumpy old polyester jobbie, and had the cash to splash then, lucky enough.

They smell a bit of silk, the first few days but that quickly disappears.

Wouldn´t use it for kids, as cannot be put in the washer (!). Had them for a year now, and still as new, but cannot promise exactly how long they´ll last!
