Are skintight jeans in for 12 year old boys?

I bought some jeans from Vertbaudet for DS1 (12) and when they came he tried them on and looked like Russell Brand They were so tight he had trouble getting them on and he's slim.

So they went back and Dp got him a pair from Officer's club for £20 and I just bought him a pair of combats from Burtons for £15 which look like they'll fit him. Can't get childrens for him now in the shops that's why I tried Vertbaudet. I'll shop again with them as I usually like their stuff just bemused by these jeans?
