thinking of either the blue floral or the brown spotty- am size 8-10 and ancient!

Disenchanted3 Thu 22-Oct-09 10:03:00

looks like a 50s maternity dress to me.

but im not a boden fan apart from the kids stuff.

It's just so...........boden.

Dated frumpy design in granny's curtains material. Not good.

LollipopLadyofHate Thu 22-Oct-09 10:07:38

no, it looks presentable on the model who is doing her best to disguise it by hunkering down and hiding behind a book. when you look at it straight on it is sub les dawson mother of the bride. you are nice and slim get yourself to a real shop and buy a nice dress.

paisleyleaf Thu 22-Oct-09 10:11:07

It seems 50s is the fashion for a lot of city people in their 40s.

overmydeadbody Thu 22-Oct-09 10:12:49

As the others have said, it is very .......Boden.

50s maternity is right. There are nicer dresses out there.

RamblingRosa Thu 22-Oct-09 10:23:57

I agree. Looks nice on the model but not when you can see it just hanging there (in blue). It's just a bit shapeless. And overpriced IMO.

purplepeony Thu 22-Oct-09 10:31:51

okay- won't buy!

cherryblossoms Thu 22-Oct-09 10:33:44

Is it the jersey or the floral you like?

Hobbs has a lovely-looking floral dress in their "Heriatge" range - it's called "NW3" or something. I can't find it on-line. And I saw some pretty dresses in Kew the other day.

BunnyLebowski Thu 22-Oct-09 10:37:34

Is it

this one

cherryblossoms Thu 22-Oct-09 10:46:41

Bunny - Wow! You are good with a website! I could not find that bit of the site.

I think I meant this one - though I hate that bow/ribbon thing.

I saw it in a feature in a magazine, rather than in RL.

Hmmm. Studying it now, I think your dress is more appropriate for running around and doing things. I just really like 50s style, fitted things ... .

God that Hobbs dress is gorgeous. But agreed that it is perhaps not for everyday, esp at that price, you would not want it to get potentially spoilt.

I think that all the boden dresses this season are very bland. There will be better in the shops come spring so hang fire i think.

I adore that Hobbs dress. What would you wear it with though? Im a 16 and thats too big to wear leggings, even though I have slim legs its my middle that lets me down!

SixtyFootGhoul Fri 23-Oct-09 19:57:10

That boden one is gopping

awful, but if you think that's bad, look at the tea dress in the pale green colour. it's a toss up which is the frumpiest.

SixtyFootGhoul Fri 23-Oct-09 21:35:31

gopping = disgussting

Hobbs looks shapeless and like floral curtains or wall paper. And a very silly price.

Hideous, frumpy and old.
