body warmers. Naff or not?

are body warmers naff? Seen a really nice North Face one, but currently 2 stone of baby weight to lose and dh screwed up face when I suggested buying one. Look like lots more practical scooping up toddlers in playground than a coat.

Naff - and v unflattering if you are more than Kate Moss size I would have thought. Thermal layers and a lighter jacket is the way to go in this weather methinks.

rather partial to them myself unless it's one of them NF padded michelin man style ones, not a good look

Perhaps naff, but dead practical. Depends what you wear it with and where - not with shoes and flowery dresses, but great with skinny jeans and flat boots.

I'm sitting in he house wearing mine as we live in a freezing house with no wireless boradband in the room with the woodburner, and I'm too tight to turn on the heating!

DH called me 'Captain Chav' for buying one for DD, aged 2 who hates coats at the moment. I think they're acceptable, in the right situation (Leeka, totally agree with the jeans/flat boots ensemble)

I like mine it is very practical for scooping up small people, you're right...

DH wants to buy me the purple North face one, but my arms would get cold
and I tend to wear boyfriend cardis so it would look silly.
I would look uber frumpy I think, and I am tall and skinny.
