as of tomorrow I am on a strict no-more-new-clothes regime

for a while, at least until I free up some space in my wardrobe (ugh, ebay, such a faff ....) pay off my credit card (not a massive amount on it, but that's not the point) and work out exactly what size I'm going to be in the wake of pregnancy.

So, if you see me on here wittering about the beauty and desirability of a completely superfluous item of clothing, please do me a favour and do the opposite of enabling (disabling doesn't sound quite right, have visions of MNers breaking my knee caps as I charge to the till holding aloft a cashmere cardigan)

But .. as a last hurrah - because it's not Monday yet and because I will need something bright and warm to wear on Christmas day, what say you to this?

I give you 24 hours....

red rag to a bull, fucker. I am nothing if not bloody minded and tenacious in the face of doubt, suspicion, mockery and general adversity ...

shock at my dh - he is an enabler!!

after me saying that I had no hangers free and that my clothes were going to have to be whittled down, I've just discovered that he's put a load of new, empty hangers in my closet!

ScaryFucker Sun 18-Oct-09 11:09:27

he is the clothes version of a feeder grin

IF it starts from tomorrow then you have til midnight to make sure there isn't anything that you desperately need!

Alibooobaandthe40phantoms Sun 18-Oct-09 11:22:16

Oh that dress is lovely - I am sooo tempted!

Are you planning to last until Christmas then without buying anything? shock

CybilCeremony Sun 18-Oct-09 11:27:44

I will give you a MN slap if I see you shopping LTEC. You cannot possibily wear all that you have...I am noticing that more and more with my forlorn items that I 'loved' and 'had to have' in the shop that hang limply in my wardrobe.

Jajas Sun 18-Oct-09 11:32:56

Oh thank heavens I'm not alone in trying to halt the shopping frenzy that is occuring this autumn! I keep telling myself to just hide the Style and Beauty threads but I cannot bring myself to do so as I might miss that special little something that I just HAVE to have!

It is a buzz, utterly delicious feeling to click on a lovely little dress (the Toast number is gorgeous, esp with their woolly tights and those fab boots in nearly every shot) and know that it is winging its way to you. Ah the joy of unwrapping said parcel from its tissue paper and a brand new, virgin piece of clothing sits in front of you.

Brrr, I need a cyberslap too please! I do not have the money for all these purchases!

Jajas Sun 18-Oct-09 11:36:06

Here are the gorgeous boots of which I speak. I so so want them to be in the sale. Stupidly though I have purchase two pairs of £65 boots and so could have had the Toast ones for almost the combined amount grr!

VerityBrulee Sun 18-Oct-09 12:30:05

LTEC, I saw this and thought of you grin

LetThemEatCake Sun 18-Oct-09 13:49:24

Aw, bless your cashmere socks Verity, it's even pink!!

Any progress on a winter coat?

Jajas, you have given me inspiration for a new thread....

traceybath Sun 18-Oct-09 14:24:56

I will join you LTEC.

Have been rigorously going through wardrobe and shamefully found things with tags still on that have been hanging unworn for a long time.

Really must do some ebabying but am an ebay virgin and it all looks so dull but must focus on getting rid of stuff and making some money.

Honestly though I have virtual baskets of stuff all over the bloody internet.

traceybath Sun 18-Oct-09 14:25:56

Ebaying not ebabying!

I found a pink coat!!!

I am so excited blush

It's wool, not puffy, and the shade of pink is not exactly right, but it is lovely. It's a trapeeze shape, with a big funnel collar. I'd say most people would wear it belted (it has one) with the collar down, but I like it unbelted with the collar up! Might wear it with a leather belt sometimes.

It's in a very cool boutique, and fingers crossed it will still be there at the end of the month when I'll be able to afford it smile

See, persistance pays, I've been looking for a pink coat since July!
