I love it, the day I have washed and dried my hair and made an effort,
then next morning it looks passable but not great and by tea time it looks shit.

so

if I want a fringe am I basically resigned to washing my hair every 1.5 days?

if not how do I deal with it? the main body of my hair lasts 3 days and still looks great it is just my fringe.

ooh i've missed all this fringe chat but I have a fringe which I like to think looks ok and I wash my hair every day at least once, sometimes twice - doesn't everyone then?

get that dry shampoo stuff, i used to have a fringe and it looked greasy mid way through the day, you just spray a little bit in and it looks fine for the rest of the day.

well I wash it every day in the morning as I have a shower every morning - cant function without - and I wash and condition it. Then if I go to the gym or running in the evening, maybe 3/4 times a week I have another shower before bed and I wash it as I am sweaty and I have to put a bit of conditioner in or it is hard to comb. Is this OTT then? Wouldn't surprise me as I can be a bit OCD. I thought most people washed their hair every day though?

I do get comment about my shiny hair though!

Get some Ghd or similiar - even the most unruly fringe will fall into line

Well I wash mine every 2-3 days.........does that make me dirty???!!!! I bath/shower everyday but only wash my hair every 2-3 days but am always told by the hairdressers I've had that my hair is in good, healthy condition!! I was told its not good to wash it everyday as it strips the hair of natural oils...........not sure how true that is?? Maybe I'm just a skank!!!! lol

Ive always been told that too but I guess as I've always done it maybe my hair is just used to it or something! I have to say on the odd, odd day when I don't wash it (bad hangover for example) I cannot go out of the house without a cap on, seriously!

thanks ladies,
will have a go at washing my fringe.
my hair is long and I use GHD's after I have washed and dried it, the rest stays lovely and copes with being washed every 3rd day.

I can't imagine washing my hair twice a day!

i think that hairdressers say all sorts of things, they always told me my hair was in fabulous condition, I said I used "sun in" spray and they would tell me not to because it makes your hair dry ad brittle

that would happen to me too, as my hair is far from straight.

I would just leave the hair drier out, easily accessible, and quickly blast the fringe straight when it needed it.. I wouldn't use ghd or you'll end up with a frizz for a fringe.

My hairdresser told me my hair was in bad condition and I think I 'snapped' a little bit. I said "well I don't know HOW it could be in bad condition, i never colour it, I do condition it, i don't use hair driers or ghds, it's just thick and wavy, that is not the same as having hair that is in bad condition!"

quite a litle speech from me.

But honestly, you don't go to the hair dresser to be insulted!

When getting in the shower, I put my shower cap on and just leave the fringe out and then wash it when I do my face and obviously the rest of it stays dry.

Agree with the fringe-washing comments.

Got the tip from here when I was going for the plunge.

I wash my hair every 2-3 days but the fringe every morning in the shower.

It's great!

doesnt your scalp itch? I am jealous of you low maintenance chicks. I don't think I do have wash and go hair as such but it is very, very straight so when I wash it I just towel dry, brush through and put parting in and leave the house with sopping hair! As long as I remember to give it a brush through before I get out of the car or to the office it is fine. I guess if I had to blow dry etc (which I have never been able to do so never bothered with) I wouldn't have time every day.

ah fabhead, I'm with you - I have totally straight hair, have to wash it every day otherwise it is unbearable and I can't concentrate on anything, all I can focus on is how horrible my hair is! the upside is no need to do much to it except brush through - but it does look much better if I bother to blow dry... [lazy]

as for fringes, if going out and no time to wash hair for the evening (cos mine looks pretty rubbish by 8pm most days) then yes just wash the fringe and blow dry, looks great and can tie the rest up!
