Phase Eight dress

Anyone ever bought a Phase Eight dress? There was a lovely wrap dress on Gok Wan's show this week. I rang up a couple of stockists to see if they had it in stock. One had a size 10 and the other had a 12 and she told me that they do come up small. I can be a size 8,10 or 12 depending on the make so wondered how Phase Eight are for their sizing. Anyone got this dress, by the way? - it's the paint spot wrap dress.

I find Phase Eight are between true to generous with sizing depending on the item.

I am a size 8 and would only ever buy an 8 in a dress from there.

Could probably get away with a 10 top/knitwear as those items can be okay if slightly loose.

I would say that they are pretty generous sizing as they aim for an older (not too old!) market. I bought a Phase Eight wrap dress last year and it has been great value -I've worn it a lot. (I bought mine from Debenhams when they had a 20% off day. Worth keeping an eye out for.)

Is it just me or has Phase Eight turned into M&S Per Una Style on Acid.

When I first started shopping there about 2 years ago I found they had a great range for my age late thirties, but when I went in recently every single darned thing had an annoying extra dangly ribbon or unnecessary flounce and it was definitely aimed at a much older market.

Apart for their wrap dresses of course as these are still the staple of my working wardrobe!

Anyway to answer your question I find their sizing to be spot on, less generous than say M&S or Boden.

Like Florence I wouldn't pay full price for Phase Eight, they quite often have 20% off and tend to reduce things quite fast, so unless you need it for something specific then I would wait and see.

Bought a phase eight dress some time ago. Worn a few times and all the edges began to fray. As it was a scalloped dress and ALL the scallops frayed, front and back, did not think this was good quality. Online communication with a named person in "customer service" ended with returning said dress. Only to be told ' it is wear and tear' . WHAT? Every row, front and back, fraying? Poor quality. Even worse customer service.

Phase eight dresses, as said above, are a working wardrobe staple. True sizing, great quality. But yes, they have gone a bit Kaleidoscope. God only knows what they're thinking.

I have one phase eight dress and find it true to size. I'm a between a very generous 12 and a normal 14 in skirts and dresses and the phase eight dress in a 14 fits me just right

I find them on the generous size. I am 12 top/10 bottoms in 'fashion' shops like river island, h&m etc but buy a size down in phase 8

True to size on dresses, a bit generous on trousers, in my experience.

I have several of their dresses for work, in fact probably more than anywhere else. They seem to suit the curvy figure, although you do have to swerve some of their slightly more mumsy stuff. I find them true to size or a bit generous. As others have said, they tend to reduce their dresses after a while so I usually try them on when I see them then keep my eyes open for a reduced one.

I am a generous size 12, 14 in some shops. I wear a size 14 in Phase Eight. I have an ample chest Winkand find their dresses can be snug in that area, a 12 would not be big enough in the chest area! I love the Summer dresses in Phase Eight. Although, definitely prefer last years designs to this years!
