footwear for elderly parents, who dont believe they are elderly, but have swollen ankles

dparents, act as if they 22 but are in fact late sixties early seventies, and now have swollen ankles, and feet. the shoes they used to wear either dont fit them properly, or, well, they just cant seem to get their feet in witouth much ado. any suggestions on what to get them?
mom wears very ladylike kshoes and brooke ones from clarks, but they difficult to find in ladylike styles. ie, they ones that fit her, seem to be built for old ladies who have given up on style, and are happy to wear things that look like trainers. dad has always worn prper shoes but the ones he has, are now difficutlt o get into, because of the swollen cankles.

Do you know, Age Concern might be able to offer lots of advice about this - why not email or call your local branch? Foot issues are a real problem and a cause of falls, so there is lots of money in providing feet-related information and services to older people and they are usually shit-hot. Lots of Age Concerns have volunteer chiropodists who will visit you at home and everything for free. Why not contact them?

DB shoes are a little better than some that sell to that market.
Alternatively, there are some Gabor styles that are in G and H fittings, so might possibly fit.
I'm not looking forward to being that age judging by the sort of shoes that are available!

These are the formal styles they do in an extra-wide fitting, These are more casual. Some are a bit trainer-ish, but there is a good choice.

They are well made too, and last well.

I wear these, cos I'm disabled and have VERY broad feet. That said, I can wear some of the styles in standard fitting too.
