Can anyone help me with my quest for the perfect pair of jeans?

I currently have 3 pairs which I rotate. One carpenter style pair from D Perkins, one Long and Lean from Gap (got hole on knee now), and one cheap slouch pair from Tesco.

I'm fairly tall (5ft 8ish) with long legs, slightly chunky thighs and a bit of a tummy since the arrival of DS2. I like jeans to be comfy - couldn't stand to be trussed up in a tight pair (and skinny jeans would look awful on me, I think).

I have a friend who has a lovely pair of carpenter jeans from Oasis, but they are £pricey and I don't want to be a copy cat. Tried on a pair of jeans in Topshop (Corey?) and they just looked dreadful. Like the idea of a bit of stretch...

Any ideas? Thanks!

I was going to say Oasis actually, or French connection (but they are more £ than oasis!)

There are lots of raves about New Look jeans - haven't got any myself (am a bonafide Baxter girl) but had heard lots on here about how nice they are.

YOu might want to try Gap's Skinny Flares. Lovely and super-flattering for your height.

Or..... jeans by Seven for all Mankind. Yes, they are as good as everyone says (and as comfortable, and no, you do not have to pay £200. Go on ebay or get thee to TK Maxx where they are never more than £50. Ie only £10 more than Gap and miles more wear in them in than yer high-street ones.

Avoid 7's Roxanne (skinny) but try A-pocket, straight leg, dojo, or bootleg. Inside leg is 34 inch so they will be long enough. Good luck!

Thanks so much for replies. Will get DH to babysit on Saturday morning and hit the shops (and have a sneaky look on ebay now before DS2 wakes up)!

Topshop - either ella (flared) or martha (straight leg. I know you tried the corey ones but each fit does fit differently, try them! I'm the same size and shape as you and these work for me!
