I need a hairstyle

Please can someone suggest a hairstyle for me. My hair's currently shoulder length, thick, layered and naturally wavy. If I have time to dry it with a diffuser I have a nice head of curls. If I try to blow dry it straight it just looks rubbish. It looks nice when I use straighteners, but I don't have the time to spend ages straightening.

I have a toddler and neither the time nor inclination to wash & dry it every day. I currently wash it every other day, which is fine.
I've got an oval sort of face (with a bit of a double chin)if that helps.
Quite fancy a short choppy bob, or something a little bit shorter. Any suggestions?? It must be easy & quick to style.
Maybe I should just shave it all off and buy a hat...
