It's too cold for sandals, too hot for boots...what is the current recommended footwear?

I get cold feet when I wear sandals, flip flops or pumps atm but I hate wearing boots when it's still sunny outside...

I'm currently wearing trainers most of the time but sometimes would like to feela little smarter (FWIW I spend most of my time in jeans or occasionally leggings)

Any tips on what kind of autumny shoes I can wear?
