Wedding in December. Am too fat for most of current wardrobe, and it'll be too fricking cold for the rest.

Would like a frock, and coat (although not matchy matchy, obv). Anyone seen anything nice?

oh come on you know the drill
size budget shapes htat suit etc

MarthaFarquhar Thu 24-Sep-09 18:40:36

size 12 on top, size 1614 bottom
no norks
good waist
shit legs - think will be needing boots actually
budget - I dunno, about £100 for the dress, £200 for the coat

you want a dress?
would a trouser combo not be better?

DillyTantay Thu 24-Sep-09 19:00:53

what is your style?
PLain? Floaty?

just got a lovely dress in debenhams for my brother's wedding in november, they had a fab range of stuff and not ££££

well bear in mind at the service if its in a freezing church all you will see is the coat and boots.
Then you can get to venue and change boot into shoes and take off thermal vest or whatever
is hte meal in the evening?

MarthaFarquhar Thu 24-Sep-09 19:10:27

plain not floaty
feel a bit worky in trews but am open to persuasion

was toying with the idea of Boden velvet coat??

meal in afternoon, band in evening if MIL is to be believed

You are the same size shape and height as me-it's tragic being tall with shit legs isn't it?grin
I suit Aline coats - was looking at ones on yesterday and empire line dresses if they're long enough -I think Long Tall Sally are good for that. Push up bra, opaque tights and 2 inch heel and you'll look svelte and glam!

MarthaFarquhar Thu 24-Sep-09 19:31:51

lucky lady - I wear boots a lot.

was a bit horrified at Long Tall Sally though. Big Frumpy Lady more like.

will have a look at debenhams and la redoute in a mo.

SO coat is not an issue then/
or boots( try duo)

just a dress... haev you ever had a style before that suited?

MarthaFarquhar Thu 24-Sep-09 20:21:00

hmmm - wrap-types are ok
not shift.

See my other thread on this theme, don't know if it will help.

There was another one on teal coloured dresses recently as well
