Teal Dress for winter wedding?

pickledHAN · 23/09/2009 12:04

Hoping someone can help - as high street shopping and google searching not coming up with the goods.

Anyone seen a nice, but reasonable ish priced teal coloured dress that would be suitable for a winter (Christmas) wedding?

Thinking of pairing it with silver/ pewter shoes and accessories.

Am a size 8/10, small bust and feel the cold but dont want a floor length evening gown type dress so something that ghas shape and style but comes to the knee or below.

Not a big ask then - would love any inspiration or suggestions!

Funnily enough, I've been there, but their teal is perfect - just cotton - bit cold and plan for xmas wedding do you think? Not quite sure how it will hang/ look.

Glad I was along the same lines as you though - hadnt see the site before, and wow! Will be revisiting!

This thread gives me the chance to link to one of my favourite dresses at the minute!!

this one

Absolutely gorgeous! Would suit your shape perfectly. Ideal for a winter wedding and would look fab with silver or pewter accessories (I'd go for pewter for that wee bit more sophistication).

Whaddya think?

oooh thanks Bunny - thats a great start, had had a look at the coast site, but hadnt seen that one. Tis a perfect colour, just not 100% convinced on the neckline fills round the top bit - will certainly bear it in mind though! Thanks and thank you for the confirmation on pewter though - will need to find those too I suppose, but will start with the dress!

Sorry there was more to my post but it cut itself in half!

I meant to say that I think the neckline on the original Coast one would really work with your shape. I seem to remember Trinny & Susannah wittering on about how detail at the neckline helps draw attention away from small boobies. .

Let me know when you want me to show you some fab pewter shoes!!

Fantastic - there more hope in this thread than my own searching! Not sure I've found it yet, but theres certainly some ideas and options there!

Thank you soo much for your suggestions.

Might go and try the first one on, and see what its like in reality - sometimes things you dont think really work, but if you dont try them...

If you have a stash of pewter shoe suggestions, wouldnt say no!

Aww gald you like - wouldnt have found it if it wasnt for your other suggestion though!! So thank you for setting me off on this track - will have to go and try it on now and cross everything to see if it fits!

Shoes - was having a browse and found these on Amazon - not convinced though and would like something as delicate as you can wear just after Christmas in the potential snow! www.amazon.co.uk/Unze-Casual-Shoes-L13213-Pewter-6-0/dp/B0028H8B54/ref=sr13?ie=UTF8&s=appar%20el&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21 =1253708056&sr=1-3

Just need to get jewellery to match and ssomething to keep self warm in the snow!

Thank you for your suggestions though - all bright ideas welcome!
