Conical wand - 100 times better than GHDs for creating curls and waves

I posted on here a while ago asking if anyone had one, if asking if they were good. (result was that no one had one!)

Well today I bought one and used it for the first time tonight - results are great! [even on my first attempt!]

Perfectly shaped curls every time and without all the damaging 'pulling your hair through' like GHDs, hair is very glossy and smooth.

But the best bit is is takes no time at all - to do my whole head (it took 20 mins - using my GHDs it look double that at least, and it was not guarenteed if I'd get perfect curls, or silly kinks)

Mine was £25 from boots - really recommende

has it got a sprung grippy thing that causes kinks?

Ahem, what about grippy thing that always leaves a line in my hair?

Picture of curls on profile. Can anyone else not access the link? I can....will find another one if you're still having problems.

No, it doesn't have a spring grippy bit, so no kinks!

How do you use it though if it has no grippy thing?

You hold the wand with one hand and wind the hair round the wand with the other hand.

Im so rubbish at trying to do curls with the GHDs so these look like they are worth a try for me..

Girls I am happy to report that even after sleeping, and being out in the strong wind today, my curls are much the same as yesterday!

Defintely no more grappling with the ghds again. And I also got the babyliss youcurl for last christmas, which is also very rubbish compared to my new conical wand. [love emoticon]

That looks really good. I bought a pair of ceramic tongs from TK Maxx recently but they have the springy grip thing that you have to wind the hair through. Those look much easier to use. It just so happens I have about £50 on my Boots Advantage card.

i cant see the link, what make is it?

It is a Babyliss curling wand and it is much easier than the conventional curling irons. I thought it'd be really hard to get the hang of, but it was really easy to achieve great results.

Wow, you look great, I also end up with kinks using ghd and a nasty burn.

Can I also ask where the Red boots are from they are devine.

Thanks No1 and I know what you mean about the GHDs. If I was lucky I would get 1 perfect curl and the rest would be silly kinks!

The boots are Fly London (but I got mine off ebay for £50) And yes, I do love them too.

Wow Jewelsandgems you are gorgeous!

How long do curls stay in for? Mine when ghd'd usually drop out after about 2 hours and I look lank, mank and rank.
