Zara longline silk/ cashmere cardis and a general grrrrrrrrrr

So I was at Bluewater today and went into Zara seeking out another of the cardis I bought for about £50 there last winter... silk/ cashmere blend, I bought mine in charcoal but a black would be handy too.

I see sales assistant
Me: Excuse me. Last year you had some longline silk/ cashmere cardigans...
Her: Sorry, I don't know, I didn't wirk here last year (tried to walk away)
Me: (Blocking her path) Ahem. Well, regardless, I was wondering if you have anything similar this year? Silk & cashmere, longline?
Her: I don't know. I don't think so. No. (walks away)

Urgh, sales assistants today!! I used to work in boutiques back home when I was studying and the thought of treating a customer like that! Bloody hell.

Anyway - do they have those cardigans?? I was so annoyed that I couldn't be bothered to stay and look

Other gripe: went to Office to return my ill-fitting Fly London boots but because I bought them online they wouldn't process the return in store, and said it would take around 10 days to be processed. All they gave me as proof of the return was a slip of handwritten paper. How dodgy is that? Quite a different story at Faith, where I returned another pair of boots, all fine, straight back on my card, no questions asked.

Very annoyed

I had a similar experience looking for the same item in Zara after you recommended it. I was also in Whistles last week returning lots of stuff. The staff were chatting amongst themselves and generally being 'absent'. Then in walks Jane Sheperdson - and I said to the assistant "that's your boss isn't it" She obviously had no clue until I filled her in. Lo and behold I had 3 assistants fussing around me!!

Yes they do have them, I bought one in a pale dusty pinky colour the week before last, I got a navy one last year and was looking for another as I wear it so much.

There was no navy, but I'm pretty sure there was grey. They are lovely, so soft and wear well.

I was in Bluewater yesterday & remain emotionally scarred by my Zara experience. I usually like Zara as it's one of the few shops that do trousers that fit me properly & I get most of my basics there. I've gone up a size recently & have ordered hundreds of pounds worth of things on line only to return them all feeling horrible & sad. So I looked forward to my trip to Zara. I tried on several items & when I asked the assistant a sizing question about a leather skirt she curtly replied "I don't think they do them that big (I am a size 12) and appeared to be stifling a laugh. Nice.

To return to your question. I got the grey one yesterday but they didn't have any black ones on the rack so not sure if they're doing one.

OMG monkeysmama!! Rude bints, that is so out of order.

What style of leather skirt are you after? I am on a mission for you now.

Thank you ltec . I fancy a knee length pencil skirt one I think. I am not sure what shoes I'd wear but that's another thread.... I am a 12 with slim legs so could go shorter. Will consider spending for a special one (or getting a high street one as I think it'll be loved but not worn that much)

Can you get to Greenwich? I got a gorgeous knee-length pencil skirt in one of the vintage stores there - he had racks of them - last winter and am also a 10-12 ... it was £25!!!

will find out the name of the store for you ... it's just across from the DLR, around the corner from M&S

otherwise whistles? Expensive though

well then, there you go!!

you know that row of shops ... there's like a pampered pooch shop (Pets and the City maybe??) and Beehive (the vintage/ record shop) where those Aussie guys were doing the most amazing coffee at one point ... although I hear they've gone now... anyway, it's in that row. Do you know where I mean?

I live in Forest Hill!

I know the shop. I've only been in there once but will take a stroll there tomorrow. Great idea-thank you! Now, what footwear...?

let me know how you go .. .I can't wait to get back into mine after this baby ... it's all buttery and soft and gorgeous, one of the advantages of being 2nd hand, I guess

Wore it last winter with this top but in pink or the above-mentioned cashmere/silk cardigan and boots similar in shape to these but from Primark!!

I've just bought one of the silk/cashmere cardigans yesterday - 55% silk 45% cashmere long (just past my bum, I'm 5'2") mid brown 6 concealed buttons v neck longish ribbed cuffs 2 pockets with ribbed tops on front £60. Haven't actually worn it yet, so don't know how it washes.
