OK, I have been pregnant for all but 3 months of the last two years and am, sad to say, a different size (and shape ).

I am losing weight (I have about another stone to go) but have decided that I can't get wait until Christmas - not having anything that fits / suits me is getting me down!!

So... What do I need for a capsule autumn / winter wardrobe and where should I go for it?

I have a 15MO DS and 7week DD, so don't need anything too glamorous.. Just decent basics, nothing too fashionable but not frumpy IYSWIM.

I'm 5'9'' and currently weigh 10.5 stone.

I have a reasonable budget....

Help!! PLease save me from wearing my husbands clothes stuff that doesn't fit all autumn!!

Thankyou!!

Your figure sounds really good, would have thought most things would look great on you - is this more a shape thing than a size thing and if so which bits of your body do you like and which not? Are you wide or narrow shouldered, big or small of nork, tummy, bum etc.?

Your DD is only seven weeks - give it another couple of months and you'll have lost another stone!

So don't get depressed about it. You'll soon be back to normal. Buy clothes that aren't clingy (no t-shirts or fine knits) but have some shape and form to them, and you'll look smarter now and be able to wear them even when you are slimmer.

Thanks!

I'm pretty happy with my body from the waist up!
Boobs are around 34D (that's what they were pre-babies). I think they are a bit bigger now (Maybe DD) but still a 34.
Tummy: pretty flat (I no longer look pregnant! ) but it's still far from toned so I'd like longer T-shirts / tops to keep it covered (I'm still wearing my M&P / Noppies maternity ones)
Bum / Hips: MUCH larger than before. Was a size 10 before, now probably nearer a 14. I'd like some decent boot cut jeans (Maybe For All Mankind or similar?) Are boot cut jeans even still fashionable???

As a child of the 80s, lots of the high street stores bring back too many of my fashion disasters youth to contemplate wearing as a 30-something mum!!!

Hmm. I don't think jeans are very kind to post-pregnancy hips (and don't worry, they'll go back into shape - your pelvis hasn't even had time to settle!).

I would recommend my favourite trouser-designer Sofie d'Hoore but don't know where she stocks in the UK...

You sound really fine for having a 7 week dd.

Put away what doesn't fit and don't worry about it.

Mybox - very, very little fits... that's the problem!!

Well - put it away & don't think about it I've always put on loads in preg (30 kilos+) and just wore my maternity clothes until things started to fit again - but I do have clothes that I know that I will never get into again.
