Tights with this dress?

misha print dress for a slightly alternative wedding (we're all camping out, and will have my wellies on standby)

The woman in the dressing rooms suggested purple tights.

I'm not so sure. They make me feel a bit like a four year old at a christmas party.

Have ordered the Rocket Dog Otto Ii in purple. From Schuh to try. Presumably not with purple tights.

Also, i got a daft looking fascinator as the bride is absolutely insisting on hats. I can't seem to find any hats that aren't old lady style. Where do you find funky hats?

TIA

YES to purple tights with that dress. M&S have 50denier opaque purple tights - bought some today. Will be great with wellies.
Primark and Dorothy Perkins have purple opaques too.

I think purple tights would be fine

I also reckon YES to the purple tights. And shoes. pmsl at the four-year-old-at-party bit, I know just what you mean lol ... but really don't think that because it will look good. Mine are from River Island, they have a nice sheen to them.

I did buy the tights she recommended.
90 denier.

But not with the purple shoes right?

....i look like i have a really colourful circulation problem, not sure i can get used to it.

what about black tights with purple shoes?

yuck, i just know this is one of those fashions that i will regret.

No to purple tights, I'd go with black. H and M have lovely hats in at the moment.

I just fancied some purple shoes.

I don't want to spend money on black shoes, too functional, too sensible, no feel good factor IYKWIM.

The black shoes i own are bit worky.

If you have to wear wellies, wear the tights, if you get to wear your shoes, ditch the tights (and make sure you've shaved your legs

Debenhams sell some funky hats but I did see at a large primark some vivienne westwoody style little hats on a fascinator band I think that would look rather good....perhaps bright pink?

OMG of course my legs will be smooth, tights or not.

You can't wear purple tights and shoes because you'd look like you had sticks of rubarb hanging down your dress.

Report
nevergoogledragonbutter · 19/09/2009 22:08

Nooooo, i'm not wearing one of those tiny top hats.

No no no no no.

Sticks of rhubarb!

With my legs they'll look more like big aubergines.

I don't like my legs, they don't deserve to be adorned it attention seeking purple.

A bit high school musical my fascinator hat suggestion is better.....

I put on my fascinator and the kids laughed like it was the best joke ever.

...and they are right, fascinators are madness.

I was in accessorize yesterday and they had some nice feather alice band thingies that I thought would look good if you had the right type of hair (mine too thin for such adornments). Avoids the deely-bopper aspect of a fascinator.

here's one but it looked better in real life I swear

I like idea of purple tights and wellies, very english eccentric
