Could I ask your opinion on this day dress?

Trying to get away from black - this one has cream around the neck so does that count? Am normally a jeans and t-shirt type, but trying to improve my image a bit! This dress seems ok as it is machine washable. The only problem is, would it be a bit chilly with the short sleeves and what would one wear over it?

it could be v. frumpy

I'm not loving it - its a little bit waitressy in my opinion.

What do you want it for - work or just being at home/shopping etc? And whats your colouring/figure . . .

Flip - maybe it is a wee bit frumpy! Am not terribly adventurous, it has to be said! Am 5ft 6, slim build, brown hair and over 40!

hmmmm, difficult to tell - could be wildly chic, could be a bit wrong. i can't decide!

paddingtonbear1 Mon 14-Sep-09 13:17:50

hmmm not sure.. not keen on the neckline. Could look a bit frumpy.

thedolly Mon 14-Sep-09 13:19:04

ok what about this le - just want something a bit different for now and again! This look as though it could be worn a few different ways.

Ruby, that Boden dress is really nice but I'd prefer something that is machine washable.

Not keen. Go for bright colours! Black and white/cream isn't a great combo in my opinion.

great plains have some lovely but demure frocks in

Monkeygirl69 Mon 14-Sep-09 14:01:17

I think the collar makes it look like a maternity dress from the '80s. You remember the one that princess Di wore to try and take the eye away from the bump.

I'd just go to Zara or Mango. It depends what you want it for.

Sorry but it reminded me of thissmile

I like it, it could look rather 60s chic with some mary janes. Some coloured tights would work with it.

Bannyfucket Tue 15-Sep-09 07:59:06

Sorry, but it is horrid.

Don't like it. Don't like that purple Kew one at all though!

LetThemEatCake Wed 16-Sep-09 09:23:09

I think it's cool - I'd wear it with aubergine, hot pink or electric blue tights and a pump of some description, whether heeled or not - and then either a fitted leather biker or clashing cashmere cardi ... but it's the kind of thing that I'd love if I picked it up for a tenner at the thrift shop, rather than buying it at a chain, if you see what I mean

LetThemEatCake Wed 16-Sep-09 09:23:35

the Kew one is blech

noddyholder Wed 16-Sep-09 09:26:28

I like would look good with coloured tights and patent heels. You would have to keep it very modern to stop the twee look

AvadaKedavra Wed 16-Sep-09 09:33:20

You'd look like a Nippy.

Much prefer this one

PuppyMonkey Wed 16-Sep-09 09:44:37

Would anyone else really wear this in the day. hmm My days are obviously very dull!!

I'm not liking any of these suggestions tbh...
