Daylight robbery on Ebay!!!! Be warned!!

I started a thread earlier today about finding a sequin bolero.

In the end I bidded on one on Ebay that I really liked but was outbid and I needed to bid an extra £12 which would have meant that it would have cost nearly £50!
Needless to say I left it but....

I had a good look on Ebat for another and there are a ton of sellers selling Primarks Boleros for £30!!!

Anyone who shops at Primark knows that there isn't a thing in there that costs that much.

So be warned!!!

Don't say I didn't warn you!

but the sellers aren't actually conning anyone are they? Unless they are saying they cost that much in the shop originally? If it's worth £30 to the buyer and they are happy to pay it (ie if they are sold out in the branch) then surely that's fine? Loads of stuff goes for more than its original value on ebay purely because the desirability of the item is more than it's original price tag.
(And no, I am not one of the sellers!)

whats a Bolero???????

expatinscotland Thu 02-Jun-05 21:02:41

Those gits! I don't shop on Ebay b/c of folks like that. But I guess, if folks are daft enough to pay that . . .

There's a sucker born every minute.

Fair enough but when it says the brand they have just put Atmosphere not Primark.

I nearly bidded for one. I'm glad I didn't. I can go to the store and get it for half the price.

Well spotted NBG

I just don't understand why some things get so high on Ebay - sometimes it's the thrill of the chase I think. Once you take into account P+P too, some bids seem to go way too high and you might as well buy it new from the shops where you can try it on first, take it back if you don't like it and you get more choice!

Hope you find your bolero though!

mieow goes to look on ebay herself>>>>>>>>>>

Newbarnsleygirl Thu 02-Jun-05 21:05:43

Bolero is a tiny cardigan with short sleeves. Some people call it a shrug.

Am gutted I can't find one anywhere.

sparklymieow Thu 02-Jun-05 21:10:16

My dd1 has one, pink and sequined, but I don't think it will fit you!!!!!! lol

hi NBG, have you got a primark near you? if not i'm going in town on saturday do you want me to look and see if they have one in your size and then i can post it to you?

Newbarnsleygirl Thu 02-Jun-05 21:19:34

Not really what I had in mind.

I want it all sequins apart from the front trim which ideally would just be wool.

Thanks though.

vickiyumyum Thu 02-Jun-05 21:21:34

ok no worries

Newbarnsleygirl Thu 02-Jun-05 21:22:34

Awwwww that is so nice of you.

We have a Primark in town, I like the one they have and if I can't find one I'll probably get theirs.

Thank you so so much for offering though, very very kind of you
