Did I sell that well? grin

I am after a little black dress, that is shortish with thin straps (maybe) and not too tight but made of a thin material that can shift sexily elegantly as one sashays into a room.

Strangely I haven't been able to find one immediately that appeases my very broad criteria wink

i have one in my wardrobe.
but i bought it ages ago.

where have you looked already?

S1ur Wed 09-Sep-09 00:13:26

Hey DB,
thus far done Debenhams, Asos, Kew, John Lewis and netaporter...

S1ur Wed 09-Sep-09 00:15:30

(oh and Browns and FCUK)

I found a few but they were all a bit 'body con', I want something that moves a bit

S1ur Wed 09-Sep-09 00:19:22

It has movement criteria but is a bit fussy no?

Thanks though!

nevergoogledragonbutter Wed 09-Sep-09 00:20:15

phase eight?

nevergoogledragonbutter Wed 09-Sep-09 00:20:44

sorry, phase eight one is more fussy than fussy. i'll try again.

evenfall dress

force of nature dress

Think more plain and shorter. I figure I can afford it to be short without looking slutty if it isn't too figure hugging. Bonus points if it adopts a less-is-more attitude to the back...

xposts - my response was to the earlier suggestions. Let me check those and BRB

coast tiger short dress

There's a nice one on the Whistles website - called the Folded Tiers dress - doesn't have thin straps but it is nice - £150. What's the budget?

S1ur Wed 09-Sep-09 00:31:52

Thank you so much DB. At the risk of sounding like a PITA fussy person, they're still too complicated. Think of one bit of thin cloth. Like a very plain very oversized camisole maybe!

nevergoogledragonbutter Wed 09-Sep-09 00:32:35

go to asos and do a search for dresses in black. there are loads.

nevergoogledragonbutter Wed 09-Sep-09 00:34:18

you want a nightie then?

do you need me to tell you there's fine line between sashaying into a room elegantly and looking like you've gone out in your nightie? grin

S1ur Wed 09-Sep-09 00:36:24

Indeed a very fine line! grin I hope with your help to stay juuuuuust the right side of it. <revises sashay plan>

tigerbear Wed 09-Sep-09 00:38:06

Check Reiss, DKNY, Tara Jarmon, My Wardrobe, etc...

nevergoogledragonbutter Wed 09-Sep-09 00:41:34

right style, wrong material?

Marrenon Wed 09-Sep-09 00:42:27

i bought this last week

it is so much nicer on,

i got purple pumps, gold beads, gold bangles and a purple scalf,

all looks fab on and so not too expensive,

S1ur Wed 09-Sep-09 00:48:29

DB, I find it hard to see past the "optical illusion" fabric! Style is good though.

S1ur Wed 09-Sep-09 00:55:46

Broccopolli that isn't what I had in mind but it certainly has the floaty thing going on and thus might be effective nice.

Broccopolli Wed 09-Sep-09 00:58:09

or this?

nevergoogledragonbutter Wed 09-Sep-09 01:07:24

can i go to bed yet?
