So a bit of back ground, mid 30s 2 DC one still BF as 7 months. I'm a bit bigger than before DC2, but not much, I'm just kind of saggy and tired iyswim. Size 12.

I have patchy style, one of my main problems is I don't really make an effort regularly. This is going to change I'm going to start doing my hair and wearing make up. I need to chuck out everything I don't wear (usually because it's ancient). I can look smart for work, but I'm still on ML and I look frumpy. (whispers - I wear a fleece hoodie and jeans from tesco). I also hate shopping which I guess is partly why clothes are so old.

I always read the threads where people recommend stuff for people. So following on from one of these I have identified 3 things to buy.

gap jeans

cardie

long sleeveless top

So it's my b-day and DH and the kids are probably buying me these and I want to spend £75 for the free shipping. So can anyone suggest something?

Thank you

How about a scarf?

Ive just gone out and bought all new stuff too. DD is 1, and due to her moving around constantly ive dropped a lot of weight, so am back to normal since having her.

Ive bought a lot of leggings, skinny jeans, floral tunics, cardies, shoe boots. I live in shoe boots, jeggings teamed with a floaty vest with a cardie, or a floral casual dress, its so comfy, i feel like im wearing my pj's. I cant do links, shameful i know, but hopefully someone will come along who can do that now.

Hmm I'm a bit nervous of scarves, I think it takes a certain sort of flamboyance to wear a scarf as day wear rather than outdoor wear. Perhaps a need to broaden my mind a bit

I disagree theochris. A great scarf can smarten up an otherwise crap outfit. Just tie it the right way and you can look fab.

There are a few videos on youtube which can show you how to tie them to look funky.
Just put "tie scarf" in the search box.
