Would you wear sweater dress and leggings if you were me?

I'm in my 40's, pear shaped, size 14 and 5'4" tall.

I normally wear bootcut jeans/trousers with a slight heel and v-neck top or a hip-length tunic fitted on the shoulder.

I want to buy a tunic style sweater dress so that it fits my top half but is looser over my tummy, bum and thighs and wear with leggings and flat slouchy boots.

What do you think? Am I too old, too short, too fat?

Weeeell - i'm a firm believer in wearing what you like rather than what you should. You are 2 inches taller than me and i'm a size 16 and i would wear what you describe - it sounds lovely.

I put off wearing leggings as I am bottom heavy too
BUT I really liked the 'look' of it and went out and gave it a go, it looks better on me than i thought it would.
Go for it!

Yes, go for it. I am a pear, and thought leggings would be a nightmare, but they seem fine with a tunicky dress. IMO boots add plenty of extra camouflage.

this is something i have been contemplating too, becuase i am sick to death of jeans!!

what sort of top would look best over fat legs? my problem is that if i covered up my thighs and kneesthen there would just be two bits sticking out the bottomof a tunic or floaty long top.

i am 40, 14, 5ft 4 too!

I was planning on a tunic which came half-way down my thighs, above my knees.
