Oh good call!
I got one from topshop and it looks like a dog's given birth to 99 puppies on it after being washed about twice

I washed my Zara one, it is dark blue, I think it was 19.99, it is fab, I want to buy more from there, there is something very flattering about it, my one is cotton, I didn't like the feel of the viscose one - it didn't suit me as well.

I didn't like the new look one I ordered, I need to take it back.

Topshop one is acrylic or polyester; I reckon natural fibres like viscose and cotton always wash better.

I'm definitely getting one! Badly need to cover my fat ass with out looking like a tramp (no offence to tramps )

doesn't the viscose mean if you dare to perspire in it then it stinks to high heaven for the rest of its (presumably not very long if it only cost 25 quid) life?

The one I got is 70% cotton 30% nylon, just checked, haven't got around to removing the annoyingly long label yet.

olivia,
I am now intrigued to know where you buy cardis, and how much you spend?

LOL at Sazisi

Haven't bought a NEW cardi in a v long time as am still
mourning the loss of my fave one at the O2 at the Prince aftershow party in July/Aug 2007.

Usually Whistles, Boden [quelle MN cliche] or Brora sale - generally cotton jersey with a teeny bit of lycra or cashmere - fewer, but higher quality is my new mantra.

"fewer, but higher quality is my new mantra"

I think the same can be said about men

Is this the thread where I can ask what melange is? I looked through the frankly CRAZY Boden catalogue last night (my eyes, my eyes) and there was a long cardigan described as 'melange'.

what is melange? Then on further inspection, there was more melange. Melange everywhere.

I might go look at the Zara cardigan. Am nervous of the Boden melange one.

Oh the other thing I noticed in catalogue - the models are all about 21. When did that happen?

Report
plasticbag · 31/08/2009 12:32

I think in Bodenspeak melange = marl

Twenty-one year olds wearing melange

that it should have come to this

Report
Pielight · 31/08/2009 12:33

Ah. What is marl please?

Katisha · 31/08/2009 12:34

It's melange.

I really need a long line cardi and a little jersey dress - all the cool types in my office are wearing this uniform with flats and opaques and looking lovely

plasticbag · 31/08/2009 12:34

lol katisha

Pielight · 31/08/2009 12:35

lol. You are all being impossible.

plasticbag · 31/08/2009 12:37

It's like tiny little flecks of darker colour innit.

Report
Katisha · 31/08/2009 12:37

Isn't it basically grey with little flecky bits in usually?

Report
Pielight · 31/08/2009 12:42

Is it indeed, thank you both. Pleased to know.

Melange. It's not a good word for clothes. I can't wear melange.

I shall check out the Zara one I think
