skinny jeans or slim leg to tuck into boots?

hi all

have taken the plunge and bought some nice new boots for winter - would love to be trendy and tuck my jeans into them - but not sure i could ever get away with skinny leg jeans at my age (nearly 40) and being a size 14....

so - how does everyone else do it? should i just get some skinny jeans? or slim leg jeans? would that work?
if skinny is the only option i may have to blindfold everyone until i put the boots on...ha ha...(its very probable im gonna look a bugger in them at my age/weight!)

you absolutely can and should wear skinny jeans at your age and size.

i do wear skinny jeans with boots and im a size 14! go for it.

I'm no fashion expert (understatement of the century!), but I'd say you can wear them if they fit right.
I thought I couldn't wear skinnies because of my thighs, they are huge in comparison to the rest of my legs and being 5'2 they are emphasised.
I finally found an H&M pair that look great. Not too tight, not thigh hugging and they look great on me.
They cost £3.99 in a Charity Shop

Just make sure you have the fit right.

Firstly check that you can still get your boots on/zipped up with jeans tucked in. You may only be able to get skinny jeans in there, the straight leg style have lots more fabric at the calf and ankle.

Secondly, realise that if you tuck your jeans in, your boots may stretch a little and then feel too big around the leg/gape when you wear them alone with skirts.

ive ordered some from next - that way no one else has to see me! lol

i can try them at home and if they truly do look terrible i can pretend it never happened!

my legs are actually ok....and quite long even though im a short ass...ive got long legs/short body so im hoping it might be ok!

ive got some non tarty chocolate brown wedge boots (also from next as it happens!) so ill see what it all looks like!

Just make sure that the boot length doesn't give you that 'principal boy' panto look. For some reason caramelly brown boots with jeans squeezed into em can really make you look like you should be slapping your thighs and bursting into song and dance...

lol....so agree!
and the thing is the over the knee ones are all the rage. (ie on trend! whatever that means) but im old and boring and have gone for up to the knee chocolate brown wedge boots with dark blue rinse jeans....
getting delivered on thursday so by the weekend i will know!
