IME, resses are no good for bfeeding as when you unbutton them, the whole of your boob and shoulder are on show for all to see.

Can you not find a nice top and skirt?

LetThemEatCake · 25/08/2009 09:44

tops and skirts are not 'moi', to be truly wankiferous about it.

This is my 3rd dc, I've done the dress thing before, 'tis fine ... I have a big cashmere wrap thing, doubles as a blanket for the feeding child!!

Have you tried Whistles - they have dresses with zips at front and quite loose fitting so they can be worn with Leggings. Have meetings in town today so may get a chance to pop into Selfridges and have a look for you

Where did you find your wrap? See below thread I'm looking for a longish cashmere cardi

oooh, thanks Choogirl! let me know if you found anything!!

did you see my answer on your thread re: the cashmere?

I've never bought anything from Boden in my life before but am wondering about this

I have that dress in black. I never do Boden either - think I have been on mumsnet too long! It fits really well and will look great with boots.

I bought this. There is also a video link which shows me 100 ways to wear it.

I also gave in and bought leggings and this dress. Saw quite a few dresses with zips and buttons.

Thought this might work for you. Looks a bit short for a dress - but with leggings?

wowsers .... thank you for thinking that I've ever had the legs to get away with this, let alone after having a baby - leggings or no!

Love the DKNY cardi - this is the wrap I mentioned

if you have the Boden dress in black, then it must be okay!! I will purchase. You think the buttons come down far enough for bfing?

Just been up to double check and the buttons come well below the bra line so should be easy to feed. Watch out now Boden have your details you will never escape. Catalogues and e-mails galore

LetThemEatCake · 25/08/2009 21:18

thank you Choogirl! Credit card is in hand as we speak

Good point AnyFucker!! I think I hoped that my height would let me get away with it but maybe not. I guess this is out of the question as well then, huh? Any other ideas??

letthemeatcake-is that you on your profile?you are beautiful!
i did see some nice button up the front dresses but am trying to remember where!
i shall return.

Report
AnyFucker · 25/08/2009 21:21

well, I think that is better as the stripes are not so wide

I reckon with opaques and high heels both would be fine, though

am just teasing ya

you could always return if it doesn't make you look fabulous

I thought that now horizontal stripes are considered fine? (sounds like nutter who believes everything they read in Vogue. Though actually, I do kind of)

Report
AnyFucker · 25/08/2009 21:26

I am very old, bleh, so it could be that

Report
Bleh · 25/08/2009 21:28

and I am very gullible and hoping that I was right about the hoirzontal stripes, as I'm going through a bit of a, what I like to think of as a French Left Bank chic phase, all stripy Breton tops, but most people are just coming out with "Ooooh, you look like a sailor/pirate/convict". Not the chic I was going for.

LTEC - Boden are doing a special discount thing this week - with a different item with 20% off each day - so your dress may be cheaper if you can wait . If you aren't signed up to receive email alerts with them, I will post on here if it turns up in my inbox this week

LOL At Bleh!!!! I did this look last year with exactly the same hopes and exactly the same comments. Was doing stripy tops with skinny jeans, ballet flats and black fitted blazer/ tux jacket thingy AND - to give it a bit of an 'edge" i was wearing a skull scarf tied around my neck!!! not helpful if trying to avoid pirate comments!! I have just dug out photo and put on profile, what's worse is that it was taken in PARIS!!! ooh la la what the locals must have thought...

cheesesarnie - yes that is me, thank you for the lovely compliment. But me before current pg If you remember where you saw the dresses, that would be great - thanks!!

Choogirl - what's with all this R and L length bizzo?? what length do you have/ how tall are you/ where does it come to??

No, I take your point AnyFucker - Maybe will ditch stripey t-shirt thingy idea and get (shhhhh, don't tell anyone) TWO Boden dresses!! One in either grey or black and then one in red?? Is the red a bit OTT??

Tulpe - that would be fantastic!! thank you - I'm not signed up so really appreciate your help. Got to spare my pennies for all those lovely maternity pads, I suppose.

im a stripy top fan.i am also a part time pirate though

Bleh · 25/08/2009 22:26

That sounds fab LTEC. Like the addition of the scarf. I nearly bought a leopard print one today, though that may elicit "Pat Butcher the Pirate" or "Pirate on Safari" comments. DP is French, and I was trying to convince him that my top was "Bretonesque" and he said "No. You don't look French. You look like a pirate. I should know; I'm French".

To hell with it, I'm going to wear my pirate shirt with pride. Or just join cheesesarnie in being one part time.

cheesesarnie · 25/08/2009 22:41

part time is fine.I'm sure full time would be a slog.
