HELP. I cant be the first ever fat person to be pregnant can i? Am i destined to a pregnancy wering elasticated trousers or is there someone who sells size 24 maternity trousers??

No, you are not on your own, I went through exactly the same with my two.

I found getting some elasticated trousers from evans or somewhere like that carried me through to the end, they are quite elasticated and very very comfy, I think I got two pair size 28 from simply be and they lasted to the end, the only thing is that the elastic doesn't go back to its normal shape afterwards.

Next do a few pairs of trousers up to 22, and their sizes are pretty generous - I can get in a Next 20 with no bother, whereas a Mothercare 20 (their largest size, I think) is a definite no.

I don't think Mothercare do Bonkerz, I was in there today, and looked like only up to a 16. Some woman was complaining "Oh why don't they do size 8? I am soo small and slim". Yeah whatever love.

I had a catalogue of larger size maternity clothes when I was pregnant, and I'm trying deperately to remember what it was called ... that post-pregnancy brain doesn't get much better

hiya!! IKWYM!! it's an abs nightmare for me to look for maternity wear too!! Mothercare's trousers are ok but dont drop right. With DS2 I just got sizes bigger, The only thing about that is that the legs and arms were way too big and I looked funny!! Am having difficulty this time round aswell so will have a look at those links.

also i think mothercare do go up to a 20, but thats it.

it really is as if the manufacturers think that if you're big nobody is ever going to impregnate you!

i remember someone on here saying that they wore a duvet cover during their pregnancy! made me giggle!

Hi Bonkerz. I am about size 20 and managed ok with a few favourite pairs of trousers. I had some size 16 from Mothercare but they were so massively expandable they were still baggy at full term. It's def worth checking out sizes that you think will be too small cos of the expanding/stretchy styles (and it's great to have a few things in your wardrobe with a smaller size label even if they are maternity wear ).

My fave pair of trousers were 'Noppies' they were about £40 but lasted whole pregnancy and afterwards cos they are made of stretchy material and so 'shrunk' back afterwards but still felt tight enough to hold my very wobbly belly in! They were from a 'one off' boutique type maternity shop but a net search might find you a local dealer.

Have you tried ebay? At least what you get will be cheaper.
Another 2nd hand site is bumptastic . I got some good quality big size clothes there.

Also Next & Dorothy Perkins do a few maternity 18 & 20s but not sure what they go up to.

bonkerz u r not alone hun. With ds i used evans elasticated waist pants and wore them all the way through. This time i am already wearing them and cant see them lasting past 6mths..lol Anyways i have looked on ebay and there is some stuff but it has to be shipped from usa. Good luck in the hunt and if u find anything particularly useful let me know. The other thing i have been using are the belly belt things. fantastice for jeans and trousers with buttons on.,

went to evans today and got some linen trousers that have a drawstring! Got size 26 which are big right now but the drawstring helps them to stay up. Am hoping they will see me through the next 7 months! They were in sale as well for £15 per pair!! BARGAIN

Sympathy, Bonkerz! When I was pg i felt like I was the first tall person to need mat clothes. I just could not get clothes long enough. Trousers maybe, but no way dresses or skirts. I hope you find some nice stuff and congrats on your pregnancy!

dorothy perkins are good for tops... as for bottoms, asdas clothes range are quite elesticy...

Oh yes...the feeding bra...I remember being squashed into something in size 38J by cheerful girl in John Lewis, who said "God knows what we'll do if this doesn't fir you, they don't come any bigger!"

My feeding bras were 48K ... NCT used to do big feeding bras, although they're not very pretty. Amplebosom.co.uk do them too.

NCT website do some b/f bras in bigger sizes (I think 44/46 back, but can't remember what cup size they went up to).

hi i was a size 22/24 when pregnant and still have most of my cloths packed away. Although gave birth to a 10LB boy I still lost 2 stone so I have no use for the cloths. If you are interested I am sure we can come to some arrangement about selling them especially if you want work wear as there are 2 or 3 really nice suits, I am sure that is why I am keeping them and my favourite black leather suit.... yes I said black , it looked great! send me an email.

If not Evans was great as they went up to size 36.

Unfortunately I was in the American maternity store only last week in Kentucky. Just to say the products are of good quality and sizes were as here, fitting but not baggy and no I am not pregnant, just jealous of the fab maternity shop they had, wish we had simular.
