I hope you ladies are up for a challenge!!!

I am a size 18, short, and a bit busty (not huge, just a d cup) and I need a nice top to go with jeans for a day/evening gig on Saturday that does all of these things:

  • comes down past my belly to hide great big post-c-cestion overhang in jeans
  • makes my norks look amazing
  • is loose over flabby belly
  • preferably isn't long sleeved but isn't cap sleeved either. I can do a vest type with cardi
  • can possibly be belted under bust to make norks look fabulous and give the impression of some kind of waist
  • isn't high-neck for double-chin reasons
  • won't crease/look like utter crap after sitting down in it

I am after some kind of miracle, non?

I love MNers! I do like that, not sure it'll be long enough, but I might pop there after work and see if they've got one.

Any more for any more?

I got a lovely one from Sainbury's that does pretty much all of the above.
Dh likes it I think cos every time I wear it I catch him gazing at my norks.
It's nice & loose, comes down past my flabelly, short sleeved.
Sorry I can't get you a pic - they're updating their site

I bought the blue one of these for a gathering last weekend. I wore it with white trousers but it would look good with jeans. It's fitted round the norks then falls loosish over the tummy and then nips in under the overhang and the drawstring makes the bottom as loose or tight as you want. I'm really fussy when it comes to tops but it worked for me

this is gorgeous but biggest size is 16-18 so not sure it would fit?

more casual but would look great with jeans and with a good bra would make your knockers look fab

similar idea - lovely colour

I know I know it's an MN crime (Per Una) but it's really pretty!

Thanks for suggestions so far. I am going shopping on Thursday, woo hoo! They all look great, but I really have to try them on. I'm a bit of stick in the mud when it comes to where I buy from, so other people's ideas are great and not something I'd have looked at.

I don't want to look mumsy, I'm 30 and a mother of 3 so I spend a large part of my time looking mumsy. But I also don't want to look like mutton! It's a music gig so will be full of skinny teenage types I'm sure, so I'll look ancient and proper mumsy to them
Can you tell I don't go out much?!

How did you get on?

I didn't . Nothing looked right so I'm going to dutifully go through everything I own and hope something will look okay. But thank you all, I tried on all the suggestions I could find. And I might sneakily go for another look round the shops tomorrow, even though I bought myself a new bag making a deal not to bother with a top if I bought said expensive bag.
