I cannot believe I am raving about Boden again but....

Just received my Mini Boden order and all the things are totally gorgeous!

I used to be a GapKids affectionado but I am seriously thinking about ditching them in aide of a shop that does offer online shopping in UK.

Infact, after the wonderful dress rave and now this one, I am worried that I am becoming a serial boden-addict.

Agree with you.
I asked my daughter to circle all of the things in the book that she liked and she circled everything.
I obviously cannot afford it all, but I got my ds some really nice tops and a shappy hoody and my dd2 got a few nice dresses, tops, some purple cords skinny's and a gorgeous purple padded coat!

It does seem like they stick with the same styles year after year, only changing the patterns. But if it's working then why not. My 9 year-old loves it all.

Aaah i loved the purple padded coat, but got the spotty anorak instead (and BTW it is lovely)

Their stuff is just so cute you know? Like I have bought it all for her starting nursery and it is like a kind of uniform.

joliejolie I know you were present fore my boden dress rave too honastly, I feel all grown up (but in a very good way IYKWIM)

Erm - has anyone sent back stuff they got from the 'preview' for refund/exchange and heard anything yet??? (ie in the form of correct size items arriving and/or refund turning up in bank acct or being notified....)

Yes, there are just sooooo many lovely things for girls this season

Am thinking of ordering this in red. Or this in green.

And apparently Michelle Obama is a fan

I am with you ladies! DS has just turned 6 and so is definitely too old for Baby Gap now and I do not like Gap kids clothes for boys. Next clothes are too teenage, M&S too boring and Monsoon to cutsie. Soooooo Boden all the way for him. Oh and the clothes for baby girls are beautiful too, but the choice for baby girls is generally pretty good (unless you want a machine washable wool coat but that's a different story....)

Yay for Mini Boden....

I love Mini Boden and bought most of DD's winter wardrobe there.

Bellissima, I returned the Urban Mac two weeks ago for a refund, I have emailed twice to speed things up and they told me that it can take 2-3 weeks before I get a refund. I am getting a bit annoyed now.

DD is loving mini boden at the moment,I took her into Gap the other week to get some bits as she normally loves them and she was not impressed at all.

I have returned two lots of things (different shipping times) from the preview and have had refund/exchange very quickly.

I know pearls I used to get all the girls stuff from there, but when I saw the boden stuff I thought it looked so fresh and funky (although as per my other thread, jeans seem to be large around waist, short on the leg - for my DD at least)

And I just keep looking at it and thinking what nice stuff. My DD1 loves it too, and asks every day if it nursery; one because she is looking forward to going, and 2, because she can't wait to wear her new stuff!

I also like the fact that re-sale on ebay for Boden items is excellent (as is Gap actually)

Fingers crossed the slim fit jeans are slim-enough-fit!

Many thanks to those who gave info on refunds/exchanges - would appear to be extremely variable. I've heard nothing but will give it a few more days.

I absolutely love their stuff for dd (age 6) She does the catalogue-circling thing too
Ds is now nearly 10 and he seems to be going off it a bit in favour of plainer styles.
It is a wee bit out of my pricerange though, but I always get a few bits in the sale...
(purely for my pleasure though, I am lucky in that the dc get a lot of handmedowns but some Boden items are just too nice not to buy )

I've had huge problems returning stuff over the past couple of years. In one case I was owed £200 for two months and I find it almost impossible to get them to process an exchange order even though I fill in the slip.

They always tell me to re-order via the website and phone them with the confirmation number so they can correct the price.

Very frustrating and it's starting to put me off a bit [relieved husband emoticon]

I have just ordered more with the £10 off code from another thread.
I think I have finally bought all the items that I can justifiably buy for me and the kids, but I have spent a shocking amount of money!
I do think it only looks bad because I have gotten most of it at one time. When I usually buy a little at a time, that does add up too.

It is a bit embarrasing how much Boden we all wear.

dd has just been through the new Boden catalogue picking out what she wants...pretty much half the girls stuff!!!

Adult stuff not drawing me in as much as it used to. Don't know if I have changed or it has changed!? (Or perhaps reached Boden saturation in my wardrobe!)

As long as you don't all go out at the same time (and look like 'boden catalogue family') then you'll be fine jolie

I am currently dieting and will reward myself with a Boden something when I get to where I want to be. (long way to go yet though )

I got my refund today, after just over two weeks. BodenGroupie, two months, that's terrible!

Despite what I said, I am tempted by the £10 off a £30 purchase offer.

Report
pofacedandproud · 11/08/2009 19:36

where is that offer suze?

Report
joliejolie · 11/08/2009 21:47

Oh I don't know, I think those padded coats are worth the money, especially with the offers around.
They are machine washable and last for ages. They are also very trendy.

I agree jolie the padded coats are so trendy, and not a bad price.

I have had a Gap real down puffa jacket for 3 years now, and although it was sillysquid, it was worth every penny. And I know I can get a good price for it on ebay too (but, me being me, I want to keep it for when the girls are older/married with their own children)

I think the only problem with the new Boden stuff is that I have ordered way too much purple!
For my dd: Shaggy hoody, padded coat, pointelle tops, jersey dress and cord skinny jeans.
For me: Boyfriend cardigan, Parisienne stripey top, essential v-neck, cropped cashmere cardigan and the cord trench.

Loads of purple, but we will try not to wear everything at the same time.

I had a look at the Boden website and the stuff is nice but HOW MUCH!!!!
For kids clothes it's extortionate, it won't fit them next year.

Report
AitchTwoOh · 11/08/2009 23:33

the prices are ludicrous, imo. it's worth a look at sale time only.
