Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturiser - a swizz?

I am 37 and have decent skin. I usually use a variety of moisturisers, but usually a cream rather than a lotion, but always with an SPF.

I've got some of this stuff (no SPF, and a lotion) and it seems crap. It's probably good for teenagers. Am I missing something?

I'm 48 and people tell me I look ten years younger. Don't feel it. I've used all sorts of moisturisers but have major allergies to a lot. Swelling, Urticaria etc. I've always just washed my face with Cussons Mild Cream Soap. Quite tricky to find these days. Waitrose do it so I buy all they've got. Moisturising and no reaction. Also, for last two years been using the best cream I've ever used. Boots Protect and Perfect Day Cream and Eye Cream. I've never found one that didn't give me swollen eyes (even Clarins) but this doesn't. I don't use the serum. Don't see the point. Don't use the Night cream as this gives me allergic reaction. Also has SPF 15. I use the day cream at night too. Fantastic. Don't use toner. Cannot be good for your skin and stings.Clinique always made me swell. Clarins better but not much.

I remember reading somewhere on here that the Clinique ranges are intended for people with very problematic skin. I find I always react badly to their products.

a friend of mine works the beauty counters at house of Frazer and she says "no-one touches Clinique with a barge pole as its way too harsh"
I've yet to find one that suits my (oily) skin and can diminish wrinkles!

I think this is the Worst Moisturiser Ever. I've never met anyone who gets on with it apart from my mum who doesn't really do skincare beyond soap and water so any moisturiser probably feels like a treat to her skin! The only Clinique stuff I like is their mascara.

Dermalogica stuff is fab for sensitive skin.

I used to use this when I was much younger but I wouldn't use it now, it's very nothingy.

Boots Perfect and Protect serum is amazing imo, started using it about 6 weks ago, and all of my lines are far less noticable than before, will be getting the eye cream when my current one runs out.

Lush Skin's Shangri-La is an incredible moisurizer can't recomend it highly enough.

Liz Earle - even I can see the difference. Hot Polish cleanser is also brilliant.

I use Liz Earle's hot polish cleanser but only once in a while. Must start using every day. Ditto the Boots Perfect and Protect! I MUST start using things more regularly.

Liz Earle gave me horrific boils when I have never suffered from bad skin.

This Resiliance Lift Extreme is bloody brilliant stuff - and I have a cosmetics counter auntie who has worked for all of the big names so I have tried them all!

It has tiny little pearlescent brighteners in which make you look wide awake and glowy and it also has an SPF and is good for keeping those wrinkles at bay!

I have the new Liz Arden 8 hour daily moisturiser on today as am testing it and it isn't half as good, my skin looks dull and lifeless!

Liz earle is a big no no for me. I get serious allergic reactions to her stuff. Such a shame as I like her and love the idea of natural stuff. Trouble is "natural stuff" is just chemicals like any other. I think it's the Camphor?(in the hot polish cleanser)that made my face swell like the elephant man. I think it's camphor. Smells like Vicks. Also the tonic makes my eyes water. All the money I have spent on this stuff wasted. At my advanced age (48) it seems to me that the less you mess with your skin the better. Products are there to make money for companies so the more they sell you the better. I've noticed that many high end creams also use wheat protein. Don't they know this is a major allergen for many people. Don't smoke (smokers have terrible wrinkles), stay out of the sun and moisturise with simple creams. Everyone ages.

I used to adore dramatically different, but recently it hasn't felt the same, so I'm looking for something else. I only ever use water to wash my face, and johnsons baby wipes nicked from ds's changing bag on the rare occasion I wear any make up!

I used it in my twenties, but it doesn't seem to suit my skin now. Too rich, I think.

I use Liz Earle now, and the Boots P&P stuff.

I have used Clinique dramatically different for 28 years and look a lot younger than I am, my mother (who is 83) also uses it. I think it is key to having kept problem free "normal" skin for so long, neither of us ever has dry spots or needs to use a night cream, although years ago my mother had to use really heavy night cream to keep her skin from being flaky. I would be totally bereft without it. As I think it is supposed to be the best selling moistuiser or skin care product there is there must be some other people out there who think it is great too.

I also found Clinique DD useless. I have combination skin prone to break-outs.

Best cleansers: Dermalogica, honestly.
Best moisturisers: Lancome

Agree that DDM is rubbish (anyone want a tube?), and I love Lancome... also, if you don't mind splashing a bit of cash, the Elemis Marine something in a pot is GORGEOUS. Really on beeooty pals to give it to me though as I can't justify the spend...

I found Dram Different didn't suit me either. One is sold every second or something though so it must work for some people. I find it gives me really horrible nasty painful spots. Years ago I treated myself to the whole Clinique range and after a week or so my skin was awful. Went to Clarins and she asked what I has been using as she reckoned my skin basically burnt. She said that Clinique is very harsh.

I have used everything over the years. Am a total beauty product addict. I blame my Mum! She is the same and was an Avon lady when I was little.

I am 45 but am told i look much younger. I reckon finding something that works for you and sticking with it is important. I have used an eye cream since I was mid twenties.

Currently using Tesco Skin Wisdom cleanser or a Cosmedicine one I got in the States or Korres wipes if travelling or tired. I like to wash off my cleanser with muslins. Don't usually bother with toner. Am using a Clarins serum for moisture for the last year or so - seems to stop my skin getting so dehydtrated as it used to. Bought the new Boots Intensive Perferct and Protect serum last week and am determined to carry on with it - esp on cleavage/decollete area.

I totally loved the Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine cream. It is fab.

Have used and liked Dermalogica, Decleor, Lancome, Clarins, Estee Lauder, Sisley.

I used to use it but don't rate it. I second elemis pro-collagen marine cream - I've tried loads of creams but this is the best I've used.

I've just started using a Garnier moisteriser with spf for old bags- I mean mature women, and I have to say it's got rid of the dry patches I got with a £48 Clarins super restorative one. Only about £10 in Boots.

Clinique dramitcally different moisturising gel is brill, the lotion made me break out. I love clinique cleansers but cannot use their clarifying lotion. That stuff is like paint stripper. Garnier fresh moisture lotion is great for my sensitive combination skin.
