two weeks in and my pre baby ones are giving me blisters due i think to the spreadage of my feet (the one thing i was not expecting)
im off out today to get some new ones can anyone recomend some? we only have a few high street chains in the town jjb and one other clearance one do you think there will be any actually qualified to fit me aswell/

You need to go to a proper running shop to get fitted. I would be surprised if either of the places you mention would have trained staff. When I go to those places I am lucky if the assistants even know where the changing rooms are.

Mothersmilk - there is a Sweatshop in Ipswich at, I think it is Ransomes Europark, - it is in the David Lloyd there and they are brilliant. They will film you running and then let you run in a few pairs of shoes that suit you.

I've had some good bargains from pro-direct running and also start fitness for the future (when you find out what brand/size you need.) Saucony and New Balance tend to be quite wide fitting.

thanks anchovies had thought about new balance already as dh wears them to run also

I found out what I needed and in what size from a specialised running shop. I then went and sourced some that were a wee bit cheaper.

Remember to tell them what surface you will run on as this makes a difference too. I live on a farm and run on grass or tracks so have changed from road shoes to Merrell trail runners and the difference is incredible.

my feet stayed bigger post pg too, isn't it grim, i had to give lots of shoes away. my fingers also so half my rings don't fit.

i have got mizuno and previously saucony men's, they are not as dear as nb (about £15 less).

tell the shop you are skint they will direct you accordingly, that is how i ended up with cheaper ones. i think it is a bit mean to take their advice and go elsewhere.
