OnlyWantsOne Wed 29-Jul-09 22:11:48

wowzer .... thats bright, I love it

(why are MN members so hept up with boden stuff)

It is nice though

brokenspacebar Wed 29-Jul-09 22:12:21

I say no, but I am not a Boden fan.

TigerDrivesAgain Wed 29-Jul-09 22:14:26

Ok, but everyone will say "oh, that's that bright Boden one". That's the trouble with their stuff

NoReturnsPlease Wed 29-Jul-09 22:14:41

If you are quite tall and slim, then yes

lovely garment, horrific boden pattern.

mrsmerryweather Wed 29-Jul-09 22:24:47

I find it intriguing- but would most likely get sick of it in 2 mintes, I think.

monkeysmama Wed 29-Jul-09 22:27:10

What would you wear it with? I don't really like Boden usually (though I have the Ibiza kaftan I love) but I do quite like this tunic. It isn't the height of fashion but it's nice.

BodenGroupie Wed 29-Jul-09 22:49:13

MrsM, I think you are truly obsessed [takes one to know one emoticon]

Have to be honest, don't like it. I have the pintuck one in red which I'm pleased with.

mrsmerryweather Thu 30-Jul-09 07:36:03

BG- I am obsessed- reason being that it is bloody hard for us oldies (50+)to find anything in the shops unless we resort to CC, Kaliko, Alexon, Per Una... and I wouldn't go there!

My wardrobe consists of bits from Boden, Kew, Jigsaw and the occasional top from White Stuff and White Company.

Shopping is hard work when you want to look vaguely fashionable but not mutton as lamb!

Agree about the tunic- it was just a debate really on it.

pleasechange Thu 30-Jul-09 08:24:03

I really like it

fishie Thu 30-Jul-09 08:57:42

i'd missed the pintuck one, it is really nice why not get that mrsmw?

how long is it bodengroupie, could i get away with it as a dress?

PuppyMonkey Thu 30-Jul-09 09:01:44

It's far too busy unless you are size 6 and about 12ft tall.....

SixtyFootDoll Thu 30-Jul-09 09:09:41

IT screams 'BODEN' at you, unfortunately.

mrmagoo Thu 30-Jul-09 09:10:38

Out of interest, Momkeysmama, what would be a "height of fashion" alternative to a tunic? Any suggestions?

PutDown Thu 30-Jul-09 09:16:09

Like the style but not t he pattern.
Am swapping Merino dress which as I said on the other thread is frumpy, for the brown ruffle tunic.
Am hoping I can wear with thick tights, but may be too short.

stavishka Thu 30-Jul-09 09:21:10

The soundest piece of advice is "you wear the clothes - don't let the clothes wear you"

BodenGroupie Thu 30-Jul-09 09:23:48

Fishie - I'm 5"9 and the long would be long enough for a dress if my knees hadn't recently gone south sad.

MrsM - couldn't agree more - can't afford Jigsaw, think Kew has got too expensive recently, no White Company shops for miles around, if I knew what "boak" meant I'd probably say it about Per Una.

Love White Stuff, Zara and some Boden. I can't help thinking Johnnie has reeled me in with his discount strategy. I have never paid full price, I just buy twice yearly in the preview then in the sale. I wonder if anyone has ever paid full whack plus postage?

flier Thu 30-Jul-09 09:26:42

I think that if you are happy with people looking at you and thinking "thats that really bright tunic from boden", then go ahead and get it. It reminds me of those brightly patterened jumpers and dresses from the 60s and 70s.....

PutDown Thu 30-Jul-09 09:49:34

BodenGroupie and Mrs M,I understand your pain!
Also like Kew,White Stuff,White Company, but pretty much always buy online or Ebay{grin}.
Great Plains can be ok,and have some lovely shrug and cardigans from Phase Eight.
In Marks,I head towards Autograph.

BodenGroupie Thu 30-Jul-09 11:04:44

BonsoirAnna made a good point recently about having to not go toooo classic when you get to our age or you just look middle aged!

Doyouthinktheysaurus Thu 30-Jul-09 16:17:13

I really like much so I bought it.

<<runs and hides>>

<<debates namechange>>

Hassled Thu 30-Jul-09 16:28:25

That's lovely. I really like it. It does have Boden written all over it, though.

BadgersArse Thu 30-Jul-09 17:32:45
