I think I need knitwear, a cardigan - any advice?

I have about four horrible cardis, all of them given to me by my mother over the years. I don't like any of them but I have recently realised that I need a pretty cardi for summer and it struck me that I have never bought one before.

Fine knit, a pretty colour but strong rather than pastel, not a round neck (not flattering), feminine, not fancy as I want to wear it with anything.

I have just browsed french connection and the dread boden but seen nothing of interest.

how much do you want to spend?

Anything like this? Sorry, I will admit to being deeply unfashionable!

I am back from being very domesticated in teh kitchen.

Spend - I'd balk at over £50, I think.

That sort of thing, lily, yes. But a little touch of funky spark would not go amiss.

I found this earlier on white stuff, which is similar to lily's but I like the edge of the sleeves and a deep scoop neck is quite nice. I do like a broad waist band which these haven't got.

tinsel, that just made me think that I haven't been into an oasis or warehouse since I was in my 20s. I always think of them as young people's shops.
