Anyone else sent back most of their Boden sale purchases?

I have just returned 2 out of the 3 things I ordered for me and 4 out of the 7 things I ordered for DS1.

The womens' sizing is just all over the place this year - the size 10 pleat front jacket I ordered was massive (despite a supposed fitted look) and the size 8 chic knitted top was far too small.

I also thought the quality/colours of the boys stuff was truly naff IRL. Very disappointed as my boys have always worn their stuff and never had any probs with quality/colour before.

I got the boy's t-shirt with the snooker balls on for my nephew, it's gorgeous. Going in a drawer till Christmas!
I am sending back the ruffled henley that I got for myself though, it's tight at the top, baggy round the middle and too long.

Am now going to look at ruffled henley, Bettymum since it sounds like it would fit my physique perfectly.....being a little baggy around the middle and too long, myself

sounds like you are made for each other!
I was sad to send it back actually, it's very pretty (I got the denim one) - they do say on the site it's quite lightweight, and it is, it's a very fine knit but I guess it is a summer item. Just looked rather odd on me.

Got a few more this morning. Cosy dressing gown in blue - will keep.Though it wasn't immediately obvious to me how it was supposed to hang.

Fisherman's medium blue ribbed cotton sweater for hubby - very pleased with.

Chic knitted top in purple - is lovely and flattering. I think this is going to be the most yummy mummy item I own (don't really do yummy mummy)

Wide leg jeans with turn ups - just about fit well enough to keep.

Double layer dress - shapeless and dowdy, going back.

Flowerburst shirt - made my ample bosom look like a sofa.

I bought one of the tea dresses in the sale, it was so horrible I felt as though I'd aged ten years just by putting it on!

aarghhelp - question about the chic knitted top - did you find it was smaller than usual size? I am wondering now if I should exchange mine for the next size up rather than just returning it. I thought the quality of that item was brilliant - lovely vibrant colours and gorgeous merino - but was disappointed with the fit.

returned the shift dress - too tight round norks

returned the double layer dress - agree frumpy

am waiting for the henley ruffle, although am not optimistic after bettymum's description!

The double layer dress is indeed incredibly frumpy. I sent that back and a pair of shoes which were a bit nothingey.

I have kept the raincoat in magenta and a couple of merino tunics which I got when they went down to half price.

I'm keeping the sassy fitted cardigan in grey - it's ooh, sassy. It does have more of those big white buttons on it which every single blinking several items are ruined by adorned with but you can't really see them against the grey which is quite pale and lovely lovely lovely and soft. DH thinks it's "sexy" .

is the sassy cardigan fitted? Can't be doing with anything shapeless

I only bought for dd and she loved everything.

My favourite is a polka dot tea dress which she accessorised with the [[http://www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Girls-Shorts/32247/Girls-Tie-Detail-Shorts.html belt from these shorts

She looked so pretty I had a little tear in my eye as she came downstairs. So clever as well.

Aww flatcap She sounds like a real little fashionista in the making!

BTW, the striped vest tops at £4.50 each are great. I have the green one which I am wearing today with a bright pink cardi and jeans. Am thinking I may order more.......

Thanks, she likes to think she is. Although yesterday she had on snake print leggings, strip leg warmers, a black skirt with chains and a yellow sponge bob t shirt.

I messed up my links and I know you all really want to know what belt she used [[http://www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Girls-Shorts/32247/Girls-Tie-Detail-Shorts.html from these shorts which although lovely are quite a snug fit.

allnew, yes it is fitted, it's a lovely shape. I got a 10 and it fits like a glove. I possibly should have got the 12 but that might have been too big. I'm still waiting for my norks to deflate after stopping BFing two months ago. I struggle to get things that fit in the boob area but aren't huge in the waist area (see: comments re ruffled henley).

I have put a picture of her on my profile in said dress with belt, awful photo taken on my mobile in low light and she is frowning.

Oh no . I'm waiting for my chic knitted top and the chic cashmere jumper to arrive - I've ordered a 10, but am usually an 8-10. Are they going to be huge?

I got my Boden from the charity shop and it fitted perfectly and for £2 reckon I got a bargain (then passed my wealthy neighbour also attired in Boden but no doubt fully priced, tee hee hee!)

Have added a picture of her in her sunhat we also got in the boden sale. She loved the tube box it came in.

Paolosgirl - I found the chic knitted top was small for size so a 10 should be fine. Having said that, I am returning my 8 (fuschia) so there will be an 8 in stock in 2 days

I have just ordered the merino tunic - the one with the cross over top rather than the pleat front one - in an 8 and 10 in Magenta. They were out of stock yesterday but have since come in again.......not sure whether I should be excited about that or not!! Could signal their absolute vile-ness and therefore gazillions returned by other customers. I hope it is lovely as I have high hopes of chic autumn/winter wear with black skinny jeans and boots.

Am stopping shopping now until the winter.......honest.

Jammy - I never see Boden in our local charity shop.....I had high hopes for the charity shop here as we moved to a smart village a couple of years ago and I had visions of lovely high end/designer cast offs from the locals. No such luck Tis the same old tat that nobody wants and smells of old clothes

I've bought 5 of the vests at £4.50 and they are fab.

Also delighted with my stripy hem skirt.

Just waiting for my stripy sailor jumper, which I wanted when it was £59, now it's £23!

Fingers crossed - hope it looks as good on me as it does in the catalogue (some hope!)

Morris....if your sailor jumper isn't great then try H&M. I have a navy and white striped cotton jumper from there which is very similar to the Boden one for £12. Has washed really well and I get lots of compliments on it.

It was from a completely downmarket charity shop in Swindon!
