What is a French roll?

Is it the sausage type thing going down the back of the head?

Have you got any straighteners? Run them through wavy hair for instant groomed-ness?

I think they are nice at the back but what does the front of your head look like when you pull your hair back like that? My hair is fine so goes a bit "Croydon face-lift" so it's not a good look for me but with your wavy hair it probably looks nicer?

I wear mine twisted up - pull your hair back so that it is gathered up at the nape of your neck, then twist it round and round, then up the back of your head, tuck the end over, and then secure with a banana/ibis clip or barrette. It's not as faffy as a full on french pleat, dead easy to do, and not very scraped back. They do look groomed though

If you want to wear your hair in a bun, you could get one of those bun rings - and pin your hair over it. Makes a better shape, I've used them on people for a while now, they are very handy

Yes, boots do them, but I can't see them on their website. Usually about £5 ish, you put your hair in a ponytail, then secure the bun ring around it with grips, then wrap your hair over the bun ring and grip into place. Instant volume!

this is what they look like.

You can get them in Claires as well. A neat tip I picked up when sitting on a plane full of junior cheerleaders (it was hell) was that you put your hair in a pony, put the bun ring over, then stick your finger down the middle of the hair, spread it out, then put another elastic right over - it pulls the hair neatly over the bun ring, then you just need grips to tuck the ends in.
