OK, we've had a thread about the expensive products that have been a waste of money, but what about those that have been worth it and wish you'd discovered earlier?

protect and perfect, the hugely hyped Boots "beauty serum." costs about £19 a bottle and lasts less than a months BUT if you use it for four weeks as they suggest it really does make a difference. i almost went out without any foundation on the other day- didn't realise cos my skin was looking so good.

last time i went to a bobbi brown counter i spent £150 on a very small amount of stuff and had to go home and justify said expenditure to DH

this aloe vera cream - cost me £30 instead of the RRP of £60, bought from a country show place - fantastic cream for anything from nappy rash to burns, sunburn, insect bites, cracked nipples, the lot. Well worth the money and a big pot has lasted over a year so far (still going!)

ghd straighteners. Expensive at nearly £100 but once used you'll never use any other brand again. defo the most effective and best out there.

Kiehls Avocado eye cream. About £26 for a small pot and really good at keeping the wrinkles at bay.

Prescriptives Magic Liquid Powder

A powder which is 80% water and looks like you've airbrushed yourself - £25 from QVC. Has light reflective particles.

You can't use it with mineral make-up though as it makes the powder liquidy and clumpy - it's totally perfect on top of Prescriptives Traceless tinted moisturiser(or Chanel Votalumiere) or indeed any normal non-powder foundation

T3 straightners about £115 four years ago changed my life-extremely thick curly hair sleeked in 15 minutes tops.

Splashed out on Chanel foundation recently don't rate it

Aveda Be Curly use tons when I am having a curly day (and not using the T3S)maybe a tube a week at £15 a pop it's not cheap but gives nice soft defined curls

Ruby and Millie mascara little more pricey that most about £14 I think- but brilliant

Jo Malone candles- lie to DH re their cost and the frequency with which I renew them but they are divine- one whiff lifts my mood
