Bermuda + Suzi Wong dress + wedding = perfect right? except no shoes....ARGH, HELP!

I have managed to borrow a dress that fits (after last minute trying of planned dress to find norkage had shrunk beyond redemption, should never have stopped bf!) - pic on profile (or will be in a mo).

What on earth do i do for shoes???

Have time tomorrow to shop, only in town though so Debenhams, Monsoon, some shoe shops can't remember which ones, Clarks, etc.

Size 5.

Budget not the main concern.

At the moment will be barefoot which whilst cool in a hippy way is not quite the tone of the wedding

Would like matching shoes, too tricky?
Thinking maybe silver/sparkly sandals?
Can't manage high heels, maybe a low heel, thinking flat might not look so perfect with the dress?

All tips/advice/hep gratefully received

is the wedding on a beach?

No, it's outside on the waterfront in a hotel.

(and just realised the photo is missing the bottom of the dress! will try and take another one later maybe)

Gorgeous dress. Silver strappy sandals - not sparkly.

I found these but they are kids ones! they do say size 5, do you think i could wear them?

(have a big next in town so likely to have them in stock)

hmmmm - get ladies shoes!

Report
JustKeepSwimming · 14/06/2009 16:59

Thing is - that heel is just right for me!

The ladies shoes are either totally flat, which is comfortable but not so smart or flattering to the legs, or extremely tall heels that i wouldn't even be able to stand up in!

what about these?

Nooooo too casual! Also might clash with the dress.

Nice dress and co-ordinates with the colour of the hotel
Defo not those shoes, you need pretty shoes for that dress, I'll have a look.
When do you need them for?

What about a kitten heel?

Take dress to Next and try it against their sandals. Look at the ivory ones, that would be nice with pink or the silver

Cornsilk - i could probably manage a kitten heel, if a bit wobbly!

Sweetfall - thanks, there are some v sparkly ones on there but either vertiginous or flat.

ok, do you by any chance live anywhere near any Asian sari/wedding clothes shops? I went to a Bangladeshi wedding a couple of years ago and got some gorgeous beaded mules with a smallish heel from the same place as my sari (and a matching bag too for that matter). They were about £20 and really pretty and everyone commented on them. Might be worth a try.

No to both of the Monsoon

Browntrout - good idea, but not that i know of, not nearby anyway.

Cornsilk - but why? i'm such a cr*p shopper and have no idea, i'm reliant on asking DH or MN!
